The APC have failed to win against Adeleke in Osun twice now, the worst being unable to secure the National and state assembly seats in the last 2023 general elections
He defeated APC again in August, so Mr President is left with no choice than this political move.

If memory serves me correctly, Governor Adeleke started his political career with the APC, following his brother Serubawon’s death. Then the party didn’t let him run as the substantive candidate and then he switched to APC and won. And if what we’ve heard is correct, he and the President wanted him to return to the APC but again, the state structure refused. So he switched parties and won them again. Now he’s in charge of the APC presidential campaign in Osun. A major indictment on the state apparatus.
