In the early days of GTA1 development, the driving just wasn’t fun. Then Pat Kerr, who is handy with physics but wasn’t even on the team, dropped in some driving code that fixed it. He’s now published a playable demo using those same ideas. It’s remarkable how much it feels like GTA1—especially the handbrake (space). patkerr.co.uk/2d-vehicles/

I feel like the President of The United States suggesting Iran should nuke Los Angeles and San Diego should be getting a little more attention than it is.

wtf?
BREAKING: Trump suggests Iran should go ahead and bomb US cities, saying "With the war, it's just artificial. It's a small price to pay... They can take out a city. Let 'em take out Los Angeles, let 'em take out San Diego. This is a very small price to pay."

You know people don’t like to admit this but older cartoons they grew up with were woke and discussed social issues like this and were very on the nose about it

This is a consequential moment on the island of Ireland. The Orange Order parade represents a return to the divisions of the past. After 28 years of progress thanks to the Good Friday Agreement, we have come too far to turn back now. Today, I joined my colleagues in the Congressional Friends of Ireland Caucus in writing to the British Secretary of State Bryant, calling on the Government of the United Kingdom to cancel the Orange Order parade on Garvaghy Road.
Community note
The letter states that the United States is a guarantor of the Good Friday Agreement, but the agreement was reached between the UK and Irish governments and Northern Ireland political parties with no such US role or designation. gov.uk/government/pub… peacemaker.un.org/sites/default/… en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Good_Frid… legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1998/2/c… bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

we cannot allow this evil to continue.
“Would you like to request voluntary departure, or should I issue a removal order?” The judge asked. “I don’t know,” Angel, 13, replied before bursting into tears. He stared ahead stoically and continued to cry, eventually saying: “I have no one. I have nothing.”

GPT-6.1 Sol is pretty good. As capable and as cheap as Opus 5.5. Still waiting on a model that can beat Anthropic's older Opus 5 on intelligence.

It is worse than Sonnet 5 on my adversarial esoteric language benchmark. Seems to be due to 5.5 wanting more reassurance from the user, rather than just pushing to complete the task given. bench.killswitch-lang.org/
Introducing Claude Sonnet 5.5, the second model in the Claude 5.5 family. It’s a clear upgrade over Sonnet 5, runs more than 30% faster, and costs up to 30% less for most work.

It’s better at agentic coding than Opus?!
Replying to @claudeai
Sonnet 5.5 improves on Sonnet 5 across benchmarks, in some cases dramatically. It’s a faster, lower-cost complement to Claude Opus 5.5, strongest at well-scoped everyday tasks, fixing bugs, and creating polished documents, slides, and spreadsheets.
