Canada's reflex is to cut down anyone who gets big or thinks big, then wonder why our best companies leave & wonder why GDP & the economy is down. The Cohere backlash is tall poppy syndrome in action. If we want the future built here, we have to back the ppl building it here.

To all these cynics dunking on the @cohere round; Canada has invested in private entities for years. The CDC has done it for decades successfully in mining, petrochemicals and pharma (TMC pipeline and many others). This is a regular practice in defense and military. AI is at least as important. It's not picking a winner. It's co-investment with the best company in the world @nvidia. Just celebrate great Canadian entrepreneurs doing something ambitious or go back to bed.

Eby gambled the province on a snap election and lost. The years of damage to our economy and our future is real. But this wasn't left vs right. It was about choosing a pragmatic, optimistic path forward. @LDoerkson was that candidate. I feel a new hope in our province.

Five years ago, we set out to bring people together, intentionally. We walked into Frontier Summit with doom and gloom. We left with hope and agency. It was the moments in between, like a dinner party where everyone ends up at the kitchen island. 🌲 This is only the beginning.
