October 3, 1993. Mogadishu. Two Delta snipers looked down from a Black Hawk at a crash site the city was already closing on. Super Six-Four was down. The crew was wounded. Ground forces could not reach them in time. Master Sergeant Gary Gordon and Sergeant First Class Randy Shughart asked to be put on the ground. Denied. They asked again. Denied. Two men could not hold that ground, and everyone on the radio knew it. They asked a third time. This time the answer was yes. They fast-roped in with sniper rifles, sidearms, and not enough ammunition. They pulled Chief Warrant Officer Michael Durant from the wreck and set a perimeter they already knew they could not keep. Shughart was killed. Gordon ran dry, handed Durant a rifle and the last rounds, said “good luck,” and went back in with his pistol. He was killed minutes later. Durant lived. He later said he owed his life to those two men. They were the first Medals of Honor awarded since Vietnam. Awarded posthumously, May 23, 1994. They did not go down because they thought they would win. They went down because the men on the ground were still alive. Never forget MSG Gary I. Gordon and SFC Randall D. Shughart.

*Consumer prices today are 27.2 percent higher than they were in January 2021. *Something that cost $100 when Biden took office now costs about $127. *Biden bears the lion’s share of the blame for that cumulative increase. *The consumer price index rose 21.4 percent from January 2021 to January 2025 (Biden’s term), while it has risen just 4.8 percent since Trump took office. *In other words, of that $27 in rising costs, about $21 came on Biden’s watch. The FBI continues to offer a reward of up to $30,000 for the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the deaths of four people during a shootout in Charlotte on June 22, 2020. The FBI's Charlotte Field Office is assisting the @CMPD and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives in the ongoing investigation of a mass shooting that occurred in 2020, along the 1800 block of Beatties Ford Road in Charlotte, North Carolina. More than 150 rounds were fired into a crowd of approximately 400 people attending a Juneteenth celebration. Investigators believe more than one person fired into the crowd. Three people died of gunshot wounds and another was killed by a car fleeing the scene. Submit a tip online at tips.fbi.gov or 1-800-CALL FBI.

BREAKING: The carbon emissions from just two planned datacentres in England will exceed all of the fossil fuel company ExxonMobil’s UK emissions, analysis has revealed. theguardian.com/uk-news/2026…
Community note
The cited analysis compares data centre emissions only to ExxonMobil's direct emissions from specific UK facilities (3.9 Mt CO2e in 2023 per Ember). UK domestic transport emits ~25x more (~110 Mt CO2e/year). theguardian.com/uk-news/2026/a… ember-energy.org/latest-insight… gov.uk/government/sta… corporate.exxonmobil.com/locations/unit…

🦔Turn your sound on for this one. This is what it sounds like to live next to an AI data center, 24 hours a day. In Dowagiac, Michigan, residents sued after a facility run by Hyperscale Data ran around the clock at 78 decibels outside their homes. The company offered to buy their houses rather than fix the noise. One family has lived on that street for nearly a century. My Take This isn't one town with one bad facility. Microsoft faces a class-action in Wisconsin over data center noise residents can hear a mile and a half from the property line. In Virginia, one-third of data centers sit within 200 feet of homes. Noise from thousands of servers can hit 96 decibels, and diesel backup generators reach 105, which is a jet overhead. Residents report headaches, nausea, and sleep problems. Property values near this kind of infrastructure drop up to 20%. The company response in Michigan was to offer to buy the homes rather than quiet the facility, homes that families spent decades in, priced against a corporate buyout. Water in Oregon, wells in Georgia, ratepayer costs in Louisiana, river water in California, and now noise in Michigan and Wisconsin. None of this was in the brochure when these projects got approved. Closed-loop cooling and proper sound barriers exist and would solve most of this, but they cost more, so the companies skip them and the neighbors lose sleep and equity instead. Hedgie🤗

LAPD is ditching Flock cameras and claiming it’s about privacy - but now the truth it out! The department is ending the contract after years of using the license plate readers for local crime work. Officials now claim civil liberties issues, but the timing lines up with increased federal access to local data for immigration enforcement. Groups like the ACLU have campaigned nationwide against Flock systems precisely because the data can reach ICE for deportations. More than 50 localities have already cut or limited these contracts for the same reason. This is not a sudden discovery about privacy. It is about blocking tools that could help federal officers enforce immigration law. Democrats and progressive activists have repeatedly tried to limit local police cooperation with ICE, and this fits the pattern. Police should keep every legal tool that helps solve crimes and support border enforcement. Los Angeles leaders are choosing politics over public safety. #LAPD #EnforceImmigrationLaw

What’s interesting is that the “cut social security for boomers” crowd, is oddly silent regarding the wildly generous pensions of public employees…that’s weird? Unless they are just propagandists tools? ….then it would be less weird I guess..

💥NEW: KTLA Interviewer *GRILLS* Nithya Raman over anti-police record amid rising LA crime💥 “Do you take any responsibility for what’s going on there — especially since you voted AGAINST increasing the police budget and adding more police officers?” “You did say ‘Defund the police.’” “In January, you voted NOT to hire 170 more police officers. They’re retiring … there’s fewer officers!”
