It has been brought to my attention that ThreadGuy was trying to dunk on me.
One can simultaneously hold the view that certain things (ie, sports gambling) are probably net negative but people want it and society is too far gone/inadequate to suppress that. What’s important is that things like this are represented honestly as **entertainment** rather than some secret to obtaining untold riches (a microcosm of the crypto industry btw) that you have to join because WAGMI.
This is similar to social trading apps. Clearly, in general and within this industry, this is where the puck is going as society becomes hyperconnected by powerful AI-aided social media algorithms.
We have all seen the stats— over 90% of people lose at sports betting, poker, and trading. The more trades and rotations you make with these fees/spreads, the more likely you are to lose. Regardless, I’ve long been in the camp that adults can and should make their own decisions regarding the use of these products. I have been a user of them for a long time.
