The hardest call for a new B2B CMO: what to say yes and no to. Adding channels adds noise. A 90-day system fixes the foundation and lands quick wins: 1-2 Foundation audit 3-4 BOFU quick wins 5-6 Messaging 7-8 Channel hygiene 9-10 RevOps 11-12 Flywheel 13 Board reporting

Just successfully had Grok Bot ask Muse to make a phone call, all securely over Tailscale. Would anyone else want this tool I built for myself to let all my different agents talk to each other? Right now have it talking to Grok Bot, Instinct, Muse, Codex, Claude Code, Hermes and OpenClaw.

My Reddit agency will do $2M this year. From Toronto. On Reddit. Without moving to San Francisco. Canadamaxxing is just building a global company and still knowing where to get good shawarma.

You can build in Canada and sell to the world. Weโ€™ve been doing this since 2009.

12 months for SEO results? Your board loses patience. Competitors run 28-day sprints. ChatGPT answers before you rank page 1. Google isn't the only game anymore. We run 28-day AI search sprints for B2B companies who want to show up now, not in 12 months.

โ€œYou grant Meta license to host, use, distribute, modify, run, copy, publicly perform or display, translate, and create derivative works of Your Content, including from Connected Services, solely to provide, maintain, secure and improve Muse.โ€
Itโ€™s funny, Meta went from having my Instagram and WhatsApp data to now having access to my email, calendar, DoorDash, Amazon and pretty much everything. In the last 24 hours, it bought me socks, ordered my Whole Foods groceries, booked a cleaning service and got me a burger for dinner. Metaโ€™s last disclosed North American Facebook ARPU was around $227/year, largely from ads. I suspect it can push that number significantly higher now that it understands not only what I look at, but what I need, what I buy and what Iโ€™m planning to do. Also the much bigger opportunity might be becoming the aggregation layer between me and the entire internet. If Meta can take even a tiny percentage of the commerce it facilitates, or of the money it saves me, this could become enormous! It already saved me $200 by canceling subscriptions and services I no longer needed. This feels much bigger than better ad targeting. Ads are useful but giving me money back is better imo. One additional thought: the agent is increasingly making the decisions for me. I knew nothing about that burger place. The agent researched it, told me which burger I should order, and I just said โ€œokayโ€ without giving it much more thought. Agents are becoming the decision makers in both B2C and B2B. Increasingly, every business will be selling not just to humans, but to their agents. Everything becomes B2A: business to agents.

We had a billboard on a truck at Unbound this year. Joanna who is an OG in the space RTd one of the pics which said โ€œagencies suck, we suck lessโ€ (and you can read her comments below) This was a line I insisted be included (the other was โ€œweโ€™re not sure why Tom Brady is here eitherโ€) so if you hate it I take responsibility our copywriter thought it was bad too but I pulled the founder card. As someone who runs an agency why would I even put that up? Because itโ€™s funny. Itโ€™s true. A lot of people we meet (and I hired agencies when I was inhouse) think agencies suck. They bring A guns on the sales call and hand it off to someone outta school the min the contract is signed. Theyโ€™re order takers they donโ€™t think they donโ€™t understand the business they donโ€™t bring ideas to the table they arenโ€™t proactive they donโ€™t have expertise. Itโ€™s true a lot of agencies do that. They load up AMs with 50 accounts - how can you have time for deep thinking when you are just barely keep your above water? AI has probably made this worse. I wanted to stir the pot I want to be open and I also believe we should be able to laugh at ourselves. We donโ€™t do that we only work with limited customers hire people with deep experience and since weโ€™re smaller side I stay close to the customer and the team (so thatโ€™s why we suck less?) The bigger point - we do marketing for B2B we donโ€™t save lives. We should be able to laugh at ourselves while also saying the quiet parts out loud.
When did the prevailing narrative about agencies become "they all suck"? Is it because they're all using AI... or they sign you up for one thing and then deliver that thing in its most watered-down form... or the sales guy is killing and the team is asleep... or you're measuring them by X metric and they don't even know they're being measured?

B2B founder: "We need predictable pipeline." Me: "You're pulling 1 of 3 levers." Net new gets the budget. Nurture and reactivation get ignored. Result: CAC climbs, one channel dips and revenue is at risk. Quarters start from zero. Pull all 3. Qualify by ICP + intent.

Your website isn't enough. Your content isn't enough. Your ads aren't enough. B2B buyers are 80% decided before they hit your site. They ask AI, check Google AI Overviews, validate on G2, look for proof, then visit you to confirm. Show up in all 5 or lose the deal.

What about when they get on a call? I was just thinking about this today. At that point, they're probably just deciding which provider to choose.

Itโ€™s true: just used this cheat code to rank in AI Search in <24 hours weโ€™re now ranking 1st for a money-making, bottom-of-funnel keyword but: we didnโ€™t have to buy a stinking Mention on someone elseโ€™s site we just abused LinkedIn ๐Ÿ˜ˆ hereโ€™s how๐Ÿ‘‡
BREAKING: Today, we witnessed the future of marketing. A tiny brand can now outrank a company doing $6M/month in AI search just by getting mentioned on the pages the models already trust. This is insane.

I just lost my grandfather. We held his hand in prayer as he transitioned to God. He went peacefully, felt no pain, and was surrounded by family. This is a huge loss for me. He was the biggest positive role model in my life. Without his sacrifices I would not be where I am today. His name is Luigi Esposito. He came to America from Italy in 1968 with my grandma and my mom. He had just 10 dollars to his name and spoke zero English. He started working construction on NYCโ€™s bridges, tunnels and doing โ€œhard jobsโ€ He was a skilled carpenter and became an expert in antique furniture restoration. With no education and no English, he was able to become a self-made millionaire from real estate investing and living frugally. Throughout his life and career he was exposed to chemicals, toxins and pollutants that ultimately led to very aggressive lung cancer. He lived a full and complete life. It was a โ€œmission accomplishedโ€ feeling for him at the end. I will miss him dearly. Sharing this because I want people to know about him and the great man that he was.

A prospect said no to us in 2021, then hired two agencies instead, one for SEO and one for paid, and both hit their targets without talking to each other. 18 months later they came back: "Nobody can tell us where the money's going." One team, one pipeline number, fixes it.

Observations from Drive Marketers are either looking for a new role or close to burning out mostly Most complain about leadership not valuing marketing A lot of people thinking of going fraction No one knows Instinct or OpenClaw etc Theyโ€™re either running Claude code or still running prompt engineering

Most B2B brands don't show up in AI answers yet. We built a framework to change that: RAISE. R: Relevance Signals A: Access Verification I: Information Density S: Source Authority E: Engagement Feedback Where does your brand sit on this framework?
