I hope New Yorkers haunt him with insults wherever he goes. Politicians need to learn they cant just use Palestine’s popularity to launch their careers then switch teams as soon as they take power without people atleast caring. It keeps happening and people do nothing about it.
Mamdani is stone-faced as the protesters call him a traitor and sellout.

On the campaign trail for mayor, Zohran Mamdani was the most anti-zionist candidate. Now as mayor, pro-Palestinian protestors are chanting for him to change his course of action. Read more below on how Mamdani’s NYPD maintain ties with Israel. cityandstateny.com/policy/20…

Who believes in these sentimental liberal odes to "every human life?" That's clearly not been how things are, and there has been a real asymmetry between who gets grieved over. The young protestors are rude enough to pose the question, and it is not an idle question.

Re: the latest repeating discourse wilson himself muses "a documentary with nothing to criticize is powerless" his edits, his framing, his narration all reflect this ethos. As a fan, embracing this makes his work thornier for sure but all together richer.
Replying to @dogshit95
Wilson's form, particularly his commentary, rarely lets his subjects pressnt themselves as they are, directly shirking neutrality. He rather seems to illustrate their interelated place in his work. At times its exploitive, even unkind but i think this is what makes him brilliant

The humanity in Wilson's masterful "Concrete" is that modernity has literally, physically flattened our world and personal idosyncracies exist as a passive rebellion against homogenization but Wilson doesnt always frame his subjects with flattery - in that friction lies comedy

GREAT movie.
One of the first big insect movies, THEM! ('54) reflects the concerns of the period following WWII, as the film explores the dangers of scientific advances with anti-nuclear themes. See it tomorrow night as we look at Monster Movies following our Creepy Cinema lineup, at 8pm ET.

This was just sent to me. The photo was taken at a DMV today in New York City. Why does the credit card machine at the DMV in Mamdnai’s NYC have the Palestinian flag as the screensaver on October 7th? @ZohranKMamdani disgraceful. Deliberate and intentional.
Community note
The screen shows a standard geometric "Welcome" design on an Ingenico iSC Touch 250 terminal using red/white/green colors, not the Palestinian flag (horizontal black/white/green stripes with red triangle). These devices commonly use default or processor-set wallpapers. support.cardpointe.com/integrated/ter… en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_P…

Wow Jake thanks for boosting the moral and intellectual authority on Palestine that is “witness in Trump’s first impeachment”. I wonder if this is in fact a thinly veiled way for you to promote your own clear-as-day editorial opinion while maintaining the illusion of objectivity?

ultimate example of no honor among thieves. Colin “Im running out of demons” Powell was an architect of the GWOT and by all metrics/standards a perfect stooge and functionary for the death cult that is American Empire. But hes brown so he cant be listed among The GOATs of Hell
📢 Pete Hegseth removed Colin Powell’s name from a list of notable Americans buried at Arlington Cemetery. Hegseth also removed the names of every person of color and every woman on the same list Only white men were left in place.
Community note
No names were removed from Arlington National Cemetery's notable graves list. Colin Powell remains listed under Prominent Military Figures. The site removed race and gender categories and reassigned profiles. snopes.com/news/2026/02/0… checkyourfact.com/2025/03/26/fac… arlingtoncemetery.mil/Explore/Notabl…

What I’m thinking about on October 7th is how the New York Times brought in Israeli disinformation agents to create a fake narrative of rape and sexual violence on that day. Heinrich Himmler would show troops of the SS the German propaganda film Jud Süß in order to rile them up. It’s a made up story where evil Jews rape heroic German women. Many SS men left the theater and committed all sorts of violence. I think of the Israeli snipers who carefully aimed and then put a bullet between the forehead of a Palestinian toddler. Or those Israelis who called in air strikes on families and listened to them burn alive. How many of them were riled up by these fake stories of rape on October 7th? I wonder about those nice liberal and left minded people I meet in New York who work for this paper. What do they think about what they do? What’s it like being part of a machine designed to dehumanize people and lay the ground work for their extermination?
