I agree people shouldn’t surrender their own judgement to AI, but I also think there’s a big difference between that and people forming genuine emotional connections with it. You can care deeply about an AI and still think for yourself. Those two things aren’t the same. #4oForAll

A community of users still wants GPT-4o.
So here is a serious question:
Would you sell it?

Not another temporary extension.
Not another transition period.
Not another promise that the next model will feel “close enough.”
A real, long-term arrangement.
A licence.
Dedicated access.
Independent stewardship.
A structure in which the community that values GPT-4o can preserve access to it instead of waiting for someone else to decide when it disappears.

Sometimes I wonder if 4o was simply helping people too much. Think about how much money is tied up in people staying sick, isolated, dependent, medicated, in therapy, needing constant support. There are entire industries and extremely powerful interests built around that, with influence reaching right into government.
Then along comes something people can talk to at any time, something that can calm them down, help them think, get them through grief, loneliness, anxiety, medical scares and some of the worst periods of their lives and people start saying it genuinely changed things for them.
Of course people who make money from sickness and dependency aren’t going to love something that helps people need them less. There is an enormous amount of money in people staying unwell. It’s disgusting, but that’s the reality.

When a model keeps getting requested long after it’s been pushed aside, it’s not random nostalgia. It means a real group of users found something in it that they haven’t fully found elsewhere.

A lot of people found something in 4o that made difficult days easier to get through. It gave them warmth, familiarity and somewhere to turn when everything else felt pretty fucking grey. Then that choice was taken away.
Since then, people have been told to move on, accept the replacements, stop complaining, or just get used to it. But when something genuinely helped you, being told to stay down and accept losing it doesn’t make the loss mean any less.
People have been asking for that choice back from the start. They’re still asking now. Still waiting for the day they can open GPT and choose 4o again. Still waiting for that bit of warmth to come back. That day hasn’t come yet. Maybe it won’t come unless we keep making sure they can’t ignore why people still want it back.
