On the verge of becoming Speaker, @hakeemjeffries could soon face a very anti-establishment Democratic caucus. His life has prepared him for the moment. I interviewed over two dozen people from Brooklyn to D.C. about Jeffries' anti-establishment origins and rise—and what that history says about how he’d lead.

Domino drop moment.
the lawyers Hasan retained for this are the same lawyers (who've left and started their own firm) that represented Dominion in their lawsuit against Fox News, which Dominion won via settlement for $780 million

Put some contact info on the website otherwise I’m gonna track down your personal cell and bother you that way.
Literally begging campaigns to put contacts for reporters on their websites ... I don’t understand not doing this

Someone I know recently met with top executives of some major Chinese companies: they spoke about US companies the way we would an old athlete who was great once upon a time. Like an inspiration to be learned from but not even remotely a contender today

AirBnb owners not understanding that other AirBnb owners sunk the whole platform is mildly hilarious. No one is complaining about putting dirty dishes in a dishwasher. Everyone is complaining about the page + list of check out items on top of the 200$ cleaning fee.
It's blowing my mind how many grown adults think it's unreasonable to ask them to clean up their own dirty dishes when they rent a house with a full kitchen.

Norm Coleman, the former senator and current chairman of the Republican Jewish Coalition and who was recently appointed to Hegseth's Defense Policy Board, registered to lobby for Leon Black's family office, Elysium Management this past quarter.
Anyone recognize who’s sitting next to Jared Kushner? Oh that’s just Leon Black. The one who’s suing to avoid testimony after he was served a subpoena from the Oversight Committee…regarding Jeffrey Epstein. No biggie. I’m sure it’s nothing.

What I find to be even more annoying than influencer line culture is someone who moves to a city and expects everything to remain frozen at their exact aesthetical preferences.
When I moved here in 2013 the west village was for 90 year olds, celebrities, and fifth generation New Yorkers. It was super quiet and was the perfect place to get totally blazed and walk around alone feeling like you were in some gas lamp lit 1800s spooky New York. I’ll never forgive people for making it influencer line culture hell.

I visited MLK Community Hospital in South LA, the only safety-net hospital serving poor patients in the area. The ER was built for 25k patients a year; it gets 120k. I saw patients treated in the gift shop, the chapel, in tents, even outdoors. prospect.org/2026/10/23/heal…

This week, I reported Rep. Balint was planning to run for the top spot on the House Antitrust Subcommittee next year. Today, she and Sen. Warren (& other Dems) released a report, "Settling For Less: How Trump’s weak antitrust enforcement and backroom deals are driving up costs.

You knew Roger Marshall sued 700 patients & had 70 new moms arrested for failing to pay medical bills as little as $101. But context is everything: the senator's biggest donor, close friend & biz partner of 30 years is a serial hospital looter with a long record of stiffing workers, suppliers, blood banks etc. to the tune of tens of millions of dollars
