Today I launched Subsail Memberships!
Memberships are "regular" time-based subscriptions, perfect for magazines who want regular income and can offer ongoing perks like access to digital content, a community, a podcast, merch etc. The magazine can be included or not!
Perks is something issue-based subscriptions struggle with; memberships fills in a nicely-sized gap in Subsail's offering.
Excited to get this out and get the first few publishers creating memberships soon!

About a year ago I sold my Ghost host, Gloat, to Magic Pages, a (much better) hosting platform.
I’m super impressed with what Magic Pages is becoming, offering a ton of things on top of basic Ghost sites.

I'm embarrassed by my own product.
I built Subsail by hand in 2016 and 2017 and the design has not changed since then. It's functional, but not pretty, and it isn't even responsive, meaning it's a pain to use on mobile.
There are always more important things to work on. I haven't made the time to update it, use something like Tailwind, or make it responsive. Don't even think about dark mode lol.
I'd love to update it. But also, I've never had anyone complain. It works, so I leave it working

We have big news. Sähkötalo is becoming Kasvutalo (Growth House), and Helsinki’s startup ecosystem is moving in.
Over the past six months, nearly 30 startups, investors, accelerators, and communities have taken over five floors of the Alvar Aalto landmark in the heart of Kamppi. Now, Slush is joining them.
We wanted to bring more of the people building Finland’s next generation of growth companies under one roof, and see what happens.
Happy to report, it’s already starting to work. Two companies from the Founders House community have made it into Y Combinator this year, and the building is home to founders and operators with roots in companies like Wolt, Swappie, and Supercell’s AI lab.
