The Solve.it.com course from @jeremyphoward & @answerdotai is so good I'm telling friends not to use my 15% discount code. Pay the full $500. They've earned it. Week 1 awesome, and they extended registration till next week. Don't miss this. #programming #education

I'm starting work on my hardware reverse engineering bench (hwrebench.com/). For now, this mostly means hacking devices as they arrive from Amazon and picking subtasks to codify into evals later. I'll be posting blogs as I go, + occasional updates in replies here too.

Jev (and the hybrid derivatives that come soon and support generative types) are going to change the game for structured output. Pydantic AI supports Jev today. We'll carry on supporting the bleeding edge of structured output from LLMs.
Pydantic AI agents now run on Jev, the classifier from @typesafeai. Jev doesn't write text, it answers typed questions. So the output_type you already wrote is the question, and the answer comes back as your model, one confidence per field. pydantic.io/8iAZ9

Game: race from one Wikipedia page to another using only links Challenge: choosing between hundreds to thousands of links Shows not just intelligence-per-second, but also the compounding benefits of not hallucinating with high-cardinality choices

Thanks to @pamelafox for inviting me to speak at the MCP Community Connect, sharing how to use DSPy to optimize MCP client calls. This slide is the main argument for @DSPyOSS: separating your task from the implementation lets you easily test & adopt new things as they arrive.

This is why I'll never appeal my Nix ban. They created a narrative and an appeal will be a kangaroo court and opportunity for more sin conjuring. Only path forward is through. Building and improving what was considered the status quo. And demonstrate how their stranglehold on what was considered acceptable caused the death of innovation and progress as well. There's a lot of exciting ways nix can be improved as well as how nix can be leveraged which have yet to be fully realized. A new era of Linux is coming, and I hope people are ready for it.
The first rule of engagement is never to accept the premise, the second is never to defend against the "allegations". You must reject their tribunal outright.

Nice beta release for DSPy going into the weekend. Killer work by @isaacbmiller1, @MaximeRivest, @michaelnisaac, & co. If you could, kick the tires on the new LM engine pre-release. It’s WAY faster and lighter weight, but there are surely edge cases... github.com/stanfordnlp/dspy/…

[Ekapkgs] Thought experiment leveraging Nix's immutable system generations to make a cheap A/B boot partition scheme. No mounts, no extra partitions. /run/booted-system becomes blessed/frozen upon successful boot, and the other slot will follow /run/current-system. github.com/ekala-project/cor…

Once we put out the alpha version of @ladybirdbrowser, you're gonna see it get hacked and owned over and over. This is expected. It'll be a natural part of the development process as we spend the coming years transforming Ladybird from a proof-of-concept into an end-user product. We know there are people hoarding exploits already, just waiting for the right moment to drop them. We welcome this! Bring it on 🤓

70% of edge traffic might be post-quantum secure, but your internal APIs and device mesh aren't. TLS 1.3 leaves east-west traffic exposed to "harvest now, decrypt later" attacks beneath your public perimeter. Once we release Nix rewrite, I promise you it will make you stand up from the chair. I don't want to hype it, but it's really looking good. I've never thought I'd have the chance to ship this, but thanks to AI we can. It will have bugs, it will have rough edges.

PMTiles is low key one of the most impressive OSS projects going. Prior to PMTiles, putting a map on a website meant standing up a GIS database and a map server (or paying someone to do that for you). With PMTiles you can drop ONE file in an S3-compatible bucket. That's it.
self hosting maps is a killer use case for @huggingface buckets! 🌍 entire planet in one 137.8 GB PMTiles file 🪣 S3 compatible using @bunjavascript’s S3 client 🔎 only fetches the pieces you need as you pan super cool that this just works!!
