In fact, the correlation between socioeconomic status of a school’s student body and its proficiency rate is the lowest in DC state test history. More DC students are moving toward proficiency – in both reading and math.🎉 The latest #DCCAPE results show continued progress across the #District – with gains at the highest performance levels. 👏 60.3% reached Levels 3-5 in ELA 👏 50.7% reached Levels 3-5 in Math Every gain represents students learning, growing, and moving closer to success. 📚📈 DC public charter schools made strong ELA gains — especially in middle and high school. Middle school proficiency grew +5.1 points and high school grew +3.4 points, both outpacing the citywide average.

#DC schools are moving forward. 📈 New DC CAPE results show more than half of schools increased proficiency in both ELA and Math, with 117 schools making gains in ELA and 128 in Math. That’s progress worth building on - and another step toward stronger outcomes for every #DC student. Via @OSSEDC
