Setup isn't the hard part, it's Docker and the docs cover it. The hard part is maitenance. Node op suppose to perform software patches and upgrades, handle disk growth, key custody etc. We could build a UI wizard like tomorrow, but then people run nodes without knowing what they signed up for and find out during a kernel panic.
Replying to @Igra_Labs
And still, there's no simple node software that everyone can download and just run. Why does it have to be so complicated? 👀

Igra makes no money on bridges or swaps. What you're seeing is slippage from shallow liquidity in the WiKAS/USDC pool on Zealous, not a fee we charge. Not ideal, agreed. It's a popular route and we're working on bringing more liquidity providers in. (Dear LPs, this pool has consistent demand and very little competition for the fees. If you've been waiting for a spot where volume per unit of liquidity is high, this is it.)
@Igra_Labs I get that you need to make money but charging almost $100 to swap $670 Ikas for USDC isn't the future of finance , that's highway robbery, with more people than ever before being able to create tokens and defi websites, something or someone will be competing with you on this soon

Today situation is ordering-free parallelism is great for payments and everything with one writer per object. However, today's DeFi is mostly one object, many writers. The only successful example of what you describe is Sui, which is cool, but not really leading.
I’d love to hear genuine thoughts about this question (the first part of the text). My working hypothesis is that global DeFi is not sequential in nature. Reality worldwide happens in parallel. Economic events happen concurrently, information spreads locally and asynchronously, and the global picture forms through aggregation and iterative convergence. There is no single sequence through which the world updates. That does not make global order in consensus systems any less important. The relative order within sub-series of related events is critical (a double spend being the most minimal/local example). But that should not lead to system designs where ~all state mutations have to go through a constant number of sequential bottlenecks

Here we go. Super proud of the team.
Turns out the full node can travel light: same full verification and 97% less storage. We previously said substantially lower storage would require a separate light node with different security assumptions. Well, we got one thing wrong. Our upcoming upgrade delivers that reduction to the full nodes, with full transaction verification stays intact. Igra node storage: 1TB -> 30GB. Storage growth: 150GB -> 4GB per month at current activity. Running a node and verifying Igra yourself is now practical for far more people. Node operators and attesters: details and documentation coming shortly. Decentralize the world!

Applications for Batch II are now open. 12 weeks of single-minded focus and intensity. What would you build with $2M and zero distractions?

Yes, though we'd have to slow Igra down 12x to support it. :)

.@Igra_Labs & @kasplex - As your EVM solutions are fast, would you be ready to handle the Fast Confirmation Rule (FCR), already?

Please elaborate.
I touch none of those quasi-coins. The fees, are not transparent, do anything on @igra, and you’ll find the fees, are not as advertised.

That's exactly what @AppKaskad is working on:

Hello Pavel, Users who are accustomed to Uniswap and 1inch expect a comparably simple experience. The ideal flow would allow them to select KAS in the top field and an Igra asset in the bottom field, with the transaction ready in approximately two seconds. One, two, or three token approvals are acceptable, provided the user never has to leave that single page. The current path—first going to Hyperlane or KAT Bridge and only then proceeding to ZealousSwap—requires too many clicks and interrupts the process. I strongly support Igra. I regard it as the strongest EVM available precisely because it is a based rollup. ZealousSwap could offer a Uniswap-like experience: one page, two token selections from different networks, two or three approvals, and the swap is complete.

Totally get the frustration. However, building flawless bridge UX is genuinely hard, and we kind of picked most of the low-hanging fruits. Let's use this. Dear community, what's the most painful part for you right now with the bridging? Having to use specific wallets? The per-transaction limits? Exit waiting times? Tell us.
Yea the lack of urgency and comms is concerning. You would think a serious team would be ontop of this stuff.

Very excited about this. More rails, more connections, more possibilities for your assets.
DAO proposal to integrate Halliday Payments and fund a two-month pilot is live: governance.igralabs.com/prop… Background Igra Network has no native fiat on-ramp or off-ramp today, so moving between fiat and Igra assets means manual bridging and third-party services. Halliday Payments by @HallidayHQ would provide fiat on-ramp and off-ramp, crypto deposits and withdrawals across independent Igra ecosystem applications. This Proposal Approves the initial integration and a two-month pilot, authorizes Igra Association to sign the agreement and coordinate implementation as a non-profit ecosystem steward, and allocates 1,606,855 IGRA, about USD 6,000 at the CoinGecko reference price on 31 August, covering a USD 5,000 integration fee plus up to USD 1,000 contingency. The Association will neither own nor operate the participating applications. It will publish a pilot assessment before the contractual notice deadline, and must terminate the agreement unless the DAO approves continuation in a separate vote. Anything unused returns to the DAO within 30 days. Action if passed Transfer 1,606,855 IGRA from the DAO treasury to the Igra Association treasury. The Association signs the Halliday agreement, coordinates technical integration and testing, and publishes the assessment. Who can vote on this proposal? Any IGRA holder. Voting is live.

Freeze-resistant, overcollateralized, no central issuer is <1% of the $300B+ stablecoin market. 99% is fiat-backed freeze capability (required by GENIUS), and this is where institutional capital goes. Good news is KAS don't have to stay in the small niche and there's a compliance-capable execution layer being built for exactly this. :)
Over-collaterized decentralized stable coins do exist on ETH. They have their own pros and cons, but one main pro is that they don't require a central company to back them. This is now enabled by Toccata.

Hi @austinoakes @bicepcurl, i work closely with Ashton for over 2 years and he would be an absolute fantastic guest to speak about everything #Kaspa. Breaking down complex topics into normie-friendly fragments, is one of his best features. Your audience would love it.
Absolutely would love to get on the Pod with @austinoakes and @bicepcurl and explain it so anyone can understand. I kept wanting to raise my hand and interject when watching back the recording.

I'll DM you for more info. In general, it will help us a lot if more people and teams share their feature requests for stablecoins on Kaspa/Igra. My DMs are open, here or on telegram: t.me/emdin
It would bring more Kaspa adoption. Right now for example with @Tangem i get paid in TRON USDT. I would like to be paid on a stable on the Kaspa network. In fact @Tangem now that you have @Igra_Labs support how difficult would it be to allow payments to be accepted in Igra USDC or USDT ?

I totally get this sentiment. As an engineer 20 yrs ago, the happiest place for me was building my own thing. Today it's finding a new use case for an existing thing that serves real demand. Turns out that's 100x harder, and 100x more rewarding.

This is exactly right direction for Kaspa. Yet seems most of the community do not understand how it all works and therefore are delusional about DeFi-ish stuff on UTXO L1

1. This is exactly what we're working on. Watch this space. 2. More txs alone isn't enough. We see Igra today as Kaspa's interface to the outside world. No need to reinvent every financial wheel on L1. 3. KCC-20 tokens can be wrapped the same way KAS is and used across a wide variety of dapps, with Kaspa as the settlement layer. 4. More users, more products, more attention. Grow the pie. Fighting over crumbs is boring.
$KAS Doing research on native stable coins possibility and from what I can see this coming to Kaspa is no time soon. I think in fact it will be way too late. We need builders but I am not aware of anything that is concrete going to happen within the next 6 months. The reason I am sharing this is because my work on @KaChat_ I want to be able to have stable coin support on the app. This is really important in allowing you to live in the real world and on the Kaspa standard at the same time. To get as close as we can to this reality I am considering supporting @Igra_Labs USDC, USDT, and iKAS. As much as I would love to be all on L1 when it comes to stables this is the best we can do right now. Also it is not like @Igra_Labs completly throws you off the Kaspa network. All activity is still funneling a $KAS transaction which makes it much less parasitic than traditional L2s. Now something that would really make this type of integration complete is getting @ChangeNOW to support IGRAs USDC and USDT and iKAS to swap into practically anything. Just sharing my thoughts no action is being made at all yet please leave below anything I am missing.
