For the kids: “Oh! The Places You Will Go!” Or “The Book with No Pictures”.
For the older crowd, my 2 favorite books; “To Kill a Mockingbird” and “The Grapes of Wrath”.
Would also consider including sports autobiographies.

I don’t read books for normals. For the kids I’d put “Hop on Pop” it was my favorite. I’m not sure for teens or adults. Jurassic Park is a good book for teens. Adults maybe Dune.

OMG! My time to shine as a resident trading card community English major! I'd add Wishtree by Katherine Applegate which is just a really sweet book. I'd also add The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman which is just one of my absolute favorites!
