Do we realise the irony?
Those who have been derided by the BJP as the bourgeoisie, the “princes and princesses”, are out on the streets - listening to the people, standing with them, protesting alongside them, and getting assaulted and manhandled just like them.
And the man who claims to be the “people’s person” lives in an ivory tower, travels in an unnecessarily long convoy of black cars, and galavants across the globe in a special jet - and yet has the audacity to monopolise Vande Mataram.
Vande Mataram is a work of sweat, blood and tears. It belongs to the people who have lived, struggled and sacrificed for this country.
Obviously, Narendra Modi has by no means any connection with it at all.
