One way to look at what's happening with Tesla is that it's being streamlined for acquisition by SpaceX
Consumers having more cars to buy from Tesla would be awesome, but no matter how well they sell, the profitability is peanuts compared to Robotaxi, Optimus and everything at SpaceX
As a consumer, I hate it as much as you, but as an investor it really is a no brainer to double down on the largest TAMs and profit drivers and sadly, selling vehicles to consumers just doesn't make the cut. Especially one that was likely actually losing money (Cybertruck) $TSLA

been waiting on my $59k cybertruck since february and elon just added an extra shift to clear the backlog before the line turns into cybercab. so either i get my truck by june or it shows up driving itself with no steering wheel. honestly win win lol
The Tesla Cybertruck order backlog is currently far more than we can make before dismantling the line for Cybercab expansion around June/July next year.
We will add an extra shift to try to get all orders done in time.
