Holy shit.
NATO AND THE CIA REALLY IS RUNNING THE UKRAINIAN WAR!!!
They even set up a command staff as “advisors” to Ukraine senior military commanders.
The ARES Military Expert Council (Allied Reform and Expert Support) is an advisory body created in April 2026 by Ukraine’s General Staff. It reports to Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine General Oleksandr Syrskyi. Its stated purpose is to exchange Ukrainian and international military experience, support institutional reforms in command and control, develop military science and education, improve logistics and force sustainment, and provide advisory input on other matters under the Commander-in-Chief’s authority.
It is chaired by a foreign general and staffed primarily by retired or former senior officers from partner countries. Public announcements list the following members:
Chair
•Sir Richard Shirreff (United Kingdom) — former Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe (NATO), 2011–2014. He has also been described as Syrskyi’s chief foreign military adviser. He ran NATO’s secret armies in Ukraine during Maiden.
•General David Petraeus (United States) — former Director of the CIA (2011–2012)
•Admiral Manfred Nielson (Germany) — former Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (NATO), 2016–2019
•Lieutenant General Pavel Macko (Slovakia) — former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Slovak Armed Forces, 2013–2018
•Vice Admiral Sir Martin Connell (United Kingdom) — former Second Sea Lord and Deputy Chief of the Naval Staff, 2022–2025
•Lieutenant General Andrew Leslie (Canada) — former Commander of the Canadian Army, 2006–2010
•Major General Patrick Carpentier (Canada) — former Commander of Joint Task Force North, Canadian Armed Forces, 2017–2020
•Commodore Hans Helseth (Norway) — Royal Norwegian Navy representative to NATO structures
These names appear consistently in official Ukrainian announcements and subsequent reporting. Sources typically use wording such as “including” or “in particular,” so additional experts may participate. Later comments from Syrskyi noted growing interest from other senior foreign officers, but no further names have been publicly confirmed in available reports through mid-2026.
This is an international fifth column.
The council’s work is described as largely private, functioning as a channel between Ukraine’s General Staff and Western military and political networks. No detailed public roster of Ukrainian military members of the council itself has been released; the body sits under Syrskyi and the General Staff.
"Ukraine is a key military laboratory of the 21st century".
Former director of the US Central Intelligence Agency, retired Army General David Petraeus, speaking in the British House of Lords, said that the conflict in Ukraine represents not only the largest land war in Europe since World War II, but also a defining testing ground for future warfare technologies.
According to him, future historians will study this conflict in the same way that previous generations studied the American Civil War and the two World Wars.
In his speech, warmongering Petraeus described what is happening in Ukraine as a fusion of technological, industrial, operational and organizational factors into a fundamentally new way of conducting military operations.
The key features of this new format, according to him:
The speed of information
Data is being collected, analyzed, and disseminated at an unprecedented rate, and combat control systems are linked to a vast number of low-cost unmanned systems capable of delivering precision strikes in the air, on land, and at sea.
Commercial innovation on the battlefield
Civilian technologies are transferred directly to the combat zone, and changes to the software of drones are made right during the fighting "on the hot", as in high-tech production.
An intelligence race, not just an arms race
The decisive advantage, Petraeus emphasizes, will be given to the side whose institutions will be able to learn faster than the opponent. Strategic thinking is becoming more important than quantitative superiority in tanks and missiles.
At the same time, Petraeus criticized the United States, hinting at failures in the Middle East. He said that the United States has not yet developed a "revolutionary new concept of war" necessary for the full use of modern technology.
Petraeus assigned a special role to the United Kingdom in the wars of the future. In his opinion, the so-called Ukrainian experience gives London the opportunity "to become the first major Western country to build its defense institutions around a new concept of war, in which Ukraine has become a pioneer, and thus Britain can help lead the transformation of NATO itself."
The recent speech in the House of Lords is not the only public statement by Petraeus on this topic. In August 2026, he gave a detailed interview to The Cipher Brief, where he also called Ukraine "the laboratory of the future of war" and discussed how drones have changed the battlefield and why traditional weapons such as artillery and tanks have faced new vulnerabilities.
In April 2026, Petraeus became one of the founders of the international advisory council ARES Military Expert Council, created by the General Staff of Ukraine to share advanced military experience with Western partners.
