Two 14-year-old best friends in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. One family leans right, the other left. Over four years, the adults around them split over COVID rules in the schools, and then over almost everything else.
The girls stay friends.
That's the heart of 𝘉𝘶𝘤𝘬𝘴 𝘊𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘺, 𝘜𝘚𝘈, a new five-part documentary from Robert May and Barry Levinson. It's a hard watch in places. Neighbors struggle not to see each other as the enemy.
What these two girls do is exactly what our political system makes hard for elected leaders. Yet the most effective members of Congress are the ones who build alliances across the aisle.
Bucks County's own congressman, @RepBrianFitz, is one of them. The Lugar Center ranked him the most bipartisan member of the House five years running, and his story is one of ten I tell in 𝘊𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘊𝘢𝘯 𝘚𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘜𝘚.
