“Given the significant public interest in this bill, we would welcome clear guidance from the chair confirming that members may probe both the meaning and the scope of ‘gender identity’ as used in the bill.”

NEWS: Top Youth Gender Doctor Johanna Olson-Kennedy's New, Replacement Youth Gender Clinic Has Also Shuttered
Dr. Olson-Kennedy ran the youth gender clinic at Children's Hospital Los Angeles until it was shuttered in July 2025 in the face of threats from the Trump administration of cutting off the entire hospital's Medicaid funding.
A year ago, Dr. Olson-Kennedy started working at Prosilio Gender Care, based in Pasadena, where she continued to provide gender-transition interventions to minors.
But now, despite the clinic's efforts to secure state funding, the @FDRLST reports that it has shut its doors.
Dr. Olson-Kennedy was sued in Dec. 2024 by a detransitioner to whom she prescribed puberty blockers on the first visit when she was 12 and testosterone when she was 13. She signed off on the girl's mastectomy when she was 14 and later pushed her to have a hysterectomy, which the girl declined.

Australia: The Government is expanding the PBS listing for triptorelin to meet urgent women’s health needs. We welcome that PBAC has acknowledged concerns about the drug’s off-label use as a puberty blocker and recommended a note clarifying that the listing is not intended for gender dysphoria in minors.
As the listing itself remains unrestricted, the practical force of that note still needs to be made clear. An explicit restriction on subsidy for this use would convert a positive signal into an enforceable safeguard.
