End insecurity and terrorism by whatever means possible. Tacit attacks at the current security voooerstin between Nigeria and the US is diversionary. Certainly not patriotism.

Happy Independence Day USA, July 4th. Yesterday, July 3rd, along with Sean Nelson, I was @ the US State Department in Washington DC, meeting with Senior Official Harvey with his team Samantha Monteith and two others. We spent valuable time in fruitful conversations on Nigeria’s insecurity, the search for peace and an end to the killings. There’s a commitment to follow up on some of the key issues discussed. Presentation sparked deep discussions. Praying for fruitful outcomes.@StateDept @USinNigeria @Sean_ADFIntl @ParaMallamPeace @MniFunmi @CalebMutfwang @MutfwangMonitor @ngBritishArts @officialABAT @MatthewKukah @PeterObi @HoareCharles @atiku @OfficialMLK3 @ARISEtv @channelstv @seunokin @tvcnewsng @FoxNews @TheDonalTrum888 @elonmusk @UK_APPG @ProfOsinbajo

A delegation from the US Embassy in Abuja visited our Peace Foundation yesterday. We enjoyed engaging and insightful conversations around the nuanced nature of insecurity in Plateau State and beyond. This visit was both necessary and important because global partnerships in sustainable peace building efforts must be done with the understanding of the complexities of on-going attacks within their contexts. We look forward to future collaborative initiatives with the Embassy as we continue to work for peaceful coexistence and conflict transformation in Nigeria.

Privileged yesterday to see grassroots democracy in action as an observer in 15 polling units in Jos-North. Engaged with PLASIEC officials, party agents and voters. I watched voters in Riyom and Jos-South also. Entirely peaceful exercise. Celebrating peace in Plateau and Nigeria.

This young man stood for justice and peace not compromising if his fellow Fulanis were wrong or the Irigwes. He was loved by all sides. Let’s encourage his legacy and continue to work for peace in Plateau state and Nigeria.

It’s really great seeing former Sec of State @mikepompeo highlighting the importance of action on international religious freedom at his RNC speech right now. Was a major part of his legacy. Glad to see it spotlighted.

Daniel, a 32-year-old graduate of PLASU Bokkos is a farmer in Chikam Bokkos. On January 1st, 2024, he was attacked by armed Fulani herdsmen in a tragic incident. Daniel sustained gunshot wounds to his stomach, anus and arm. His wife stood by him as he recovered. 1/4

Sadly in May 2024, Daniel courageously returned to his farm to support himself and his 3-year-old son. But on June 6th, armed Fulani herdsmen unleashed 257 cows on his farm and that of eight others, which destroyed their crops of maize and potatoes. 3/4 @ShehuSani @FelaLives

Many people in Bokkos face similar hardships since the December attacks. When will these senseless killings end? When will justice and freedom prevail in Plateau State? 4/4 @Sean_ADFIntl @ARISEtv @channelstv @tvcnewsng @NTANewsNow @UN @_AfricanUnion @EU_Commission @officialABAT

Families had their homes destroyed and all their food stolen, and so had moved into a small grain shelter to sleep and live.

This is something that was new to me that we learned on our visit to Bokkos, Nigeria: the intentional destruction/burning of crops. It's not just forcing people off/stealing land/homes leading to 50% farm loss, but potentially creating famine conditions. @gparamallam
Food terrorism- new dimension of terrorism ravaging the Middlebelt 3 days after our visit to Bokkos with @Sean_ADFIntl , we learnt that a hectare of farmland with Maize & potatoes destroyed at Chikam village on 11/6/2024 If unchecked, more food crisis for Nigerians & the globe
