Sometimes I feel like an unworthy parent. Like my children are far better than I deserve. That hit yet again last night at Cambria’s volleyball senior night.
She is blessed with length, athleticism, and aggressiveness. As a result, she is one of the best athletes for any track or gym she walks in to. While that’s fun, and we are proud of it, that’s not why Jodie and I feel unworthy.
Cambria has an exceptional combination of competitive edge and kindness. The Lord has given her the fruits of His Spirit and she loves others well.
The hugs, kind words, notes written, and so much more were reigned down on our daughter last night. Not focused on athletic accomplishments, but on how she makes people feel. The impact she has on others.
And who she is and the woman she is becoming is so far removed from any parenting Jodie and I have done. Again, she is more than we deserve. A lot of it has been the people that have rallied around her and poured into her. There were countless friends and family there to support her last night. A lot more than I expected. Past team mates and coaches, family members, church leaders, friends from other teams, young children she has poured into, and adults that have known her since she was born. All of them have been used by the Lord to help shape her into who she has become and who she is becoming. What a blessing!
We love her dearly.
We are thankful for those that have loved her.
She is a blessing far beyond words.
Thank the Lord for His grace and love!
