The EU's sanctions policy was based on hysteria & ideology. Hence, some had the desired effect but most didn't or even backfired. Yet, only @PM_ViktorOrban has been calling for the evaluation & re-think of the sanctions. Others endlessly repeat the words "moral obligation".

I think this reflects the early months of the war when oil and gas prices surged and Europe wasn't yet able to significantly reduce its imports from Russia. Prices and imports have fallen significantly since then.

I do think the correct analysis would be the comparison between 2023 and 2022. In 2022, oil and gas prices skyrocketed, and it was impossible to cut all energy imports from Russia at once. Now that prices are stabilizing we will be able to see if sanctions are working or not.

Finally someone from EU parlament said what @SamselMarcin is trying to say for a very long time! Until total embargo for any trade with Russia will not be placed, Putin will have money to fuel the war. Also Europe as a Europe should think to provide long range weapon for Ukraine!
