U.S. CONSUMER SENTIMENT SLIDES AS INFLATION FEARS RISE
University of Michigan consumer sentiment fell to 48.1 in September from 51.7 in August, though slightly above expectations.
Inflation expectations moved higher, with the 1-year outlook jumping to 4.6% from 4.0%.
Long-term inflation expectations also edged up to 3.4%, signaling persistent concerns over future price pressures.
