U.S. citizen Mitchell Best, sentenced in 2024 to 30 years in prison for rape, was sentenced to two more 30-year sentences after pleading guilty to charges he produced child sexual abuse material.
ICE @HSINewOrleans special agents and Cabot Police Department officers found multiple files of child sexual abuse material at Best’s home during a 2024 search, including images and videos on his phone that depicted him sexually assaulting a young child.
We will relentlessly pursue child predators and hold them accountable for their heinous crimes against children.

We are constantly told to have compassion for people who enter our country illegally.
But where is their compassion?
Where is their compassion for the people they put at risk?
For the laws they knowingly violate?
For the victims of crimes they commit?
For the families whose lives are permanently changed?
Why do we treat illegal immigrants as though they have no agency, no choices and no responsibility of their own?
Compassion should not mean excusing choices.
Humanity should not mean eliminating accountability.
And compassion cannot be one-way.
