Full reaction over the next two days but brief thoughts. - Bristol City looked bright in the first half, but Palace were clearly on top. - Poor defending and a silly foul on the edge of the box hand the goals to the Championship side. - McNeil and Mingueza both played well, good linkup and some excellent delivery into the box. - Chilwell poor, as was Mitchell. - Pleased with the substitutes. Doucouré was strong and the academy boys looked bright too, Chuks maybe a tad nervous but Sealey especially - bags of confidence. - Result means very little, again Palace created lots of chances, and the actual football being played is getting better and much more fluid. #cpfc

Have to disagree on Mingueza. He was woeful. Gave away the silly free kick for their goal. Tried to beat his man by kicking through them multiple times. Was weak on the ball and got out muscled. McNeil and Doucore the bright spots for me. Guessand woeful again too

take your point on OM in the first half, but was at the heart of majority of the good moves in the second, and McNeil doesn't stand out without Mingueza feeding him the ball so consistently

Even our so called 2nd team should of least pickled up a win worse case draw today 5-6 of those players are starting 11 Means very little I don’t agree. It means what ever system we’re playing defensively is crap and isn’t working. An the so called depth isn’t good enough

How did Mingueza look defensively? Been poor in the minutes I have seen so far.

Sorry Henry but it’s ridiculous to say the result today means very little. It undermines the Manager in the eyes of his players & the Board & puts us on the back foot for the huge game v Forest. It also raises again huge concerns about how badly we defend under Sage . Woeful ❤️💙

No player gives 100% in friendlies meaning less game

Lots of over reactions on here. Sounds good to me Henry thanks for the summation

Thought we were very lazy and turgid. Can understand why but these players should be keen to impress. Sage also had no encouragement, interaction or rapport with the players which looks a worry.

My concern is that whilst we have lauded the depth that we now have, some of the depth players today just didn’t cut it. I felt the performance was lacklustre. Hughes being your main outlet most of the game. Minutes for players though. Happy Doucoure is back looking good

I thought Mingueza in possession was absolutely woeful, but no one stood out, it was poor all round. Every player on the pitch wasn’t good enough

We should just terminate Nketiahs contract now absolutely useless

BC wanted it more than us and we obviously didn’t want to go full throttle and come out with injuries, and it was only a friendly. But there were some poor performances given they were all first-team squad. Good to see Doucoure with some nice touches.

Agree OM poor in first half but really good in 2nd. Expected more from Eddie up front but he was very quiet. Wharton poor by his standards. City's game plan was exploit us at set plays and they did. We played at training pace which is fine but should have been more clinical. UTP

If Decoure can get back to his best it would be great as the first team are desperate for a midfielder like him that also protects our defense.

The "poor defending" just isn't acceptable anymore. Sage must sort it or go. 🤬

Some of the worst and bizarre decision making from players is just pathetic at this point

Doesnt really matter how they play If all they can register is 1 shot on target against a championship side

Biggest negative for me was our starting midfield. Wharton was woeful - lost the ball many times and passing not at his usual standard. Was looking better before the break so I hope today was an aberration.

Good to see even in meaningless friendlies we still manage to concede in the first 5 mins of the second half, at least we are consistent 🙄
