The way City/Abu Dhabi are behaving with the UK government - threats, intimidation, aggressive lobbying - can we rule out that they haven’t behaved this way with players, clubs and referees in order to get their own way? Becoming a bigger stain on our game with each passing day.

City should be paused from playing any more league games until their appeal and final punishment are decided. Imagine them beating Liverpool or another side after the international break, only for the verdict to later send them down to League Two or even the National League. Those results could have a huge impact on the table. In my view, Sunderland should be their final fixture unless they win the appeal. If they keep playing and are later removed from the league, points could be taken away at a crucial stage and completely change the fight for the title, Europe or survival.

Manchester City’s appeal hearing has a 12-week deadline, with the decision due within another 30 days. So a club found guilty of systematic rule-breaking can spend four more months leading the competition. The legal process may be legitimate. The sporting situation is absurd.

If you support our owners doing stuff like this, just because you want to see city win a few more trophies then you are literally so far gone you can't be helped.

🚨🔵 PREMIER LEAGUE CONSIDERING MAXIMUM PUNISHMENT FOR MANCHESTER CITY! The Premier League is reportedly looking at imposing the highest punishment possible on Manchester City if the club ultimately loses its appeal. The Premier League is said to be extremely frustrated with Manchester City over the amount of time and resources spent dealing with what it considers serious breaches committed by the club. Furthermore, if the Abu Dhabi-owned club continues escalating its fight with the Premier League, English football could reportedly consider taking the unprecedented step of removing Manchester City from the English football pyramid altogether. The situation could therefore become even more serious if City’s appeal fails and the dispute with the authorities continues to escalate. 🔵 Manchester City’s appeal could determine just how severe the consequences become. #AFC #Arsenal #ManCity #PremierLeague #EFL #COYG
