I have to admit, even though I’m a hardcore Marine, battle hardened and forged in discipline, when it comes to music, I’ve got a soft spot for Led Zeppelin.
Yeah, it’s way before my time, but something about the raw power of Jimmy Page’s guitar, the soul-rattling thunder of John Bonham’s drums, and Robert Plant’s wailing vocals just hits different.
Plant-arguably one of the greatest singers ever.
Page-one of the best guitarist ever
Jones-one of the best bassist ever
Bonzo-easily one of the best drummers ever.
They were simply the best.
1969-1975, yes. I tried to listen to "Physical Graffiti" today....
But...
Too repetitive to my today ears.
Loved them back then though, saw them live twice.
Interesting tidbit showing how poking fun at yourself is always a win!
The band's name "Led Zeppelin" was coined by Keith Moon of The Who, who jokingly suggested the band would "go down like a lead balloon.”
