Here is the video of the ceiling of the Kennedy Center crashing violently onto the main Lobby floor. Failing roofing, collapsing concrete supports, and steel that is rotting have created completely unsafe conditions.
It was caught on security video, missing one of the Center’s security guards by just minutes. If a performance had been underway, patrons could have been killed.
The entire building is in this kind of shape. People cannot be allowed to go into this building any longer. It must be closed and reconstructed, and a major fundraising effort must take place to cover the Kennedy Center’s operating expenses.
Like many other Centers, it operates at a huge loss. For the Kennedy Center, that has historically been $80-$100 million a year.
Only President Trump can deliver the renovation on time and on budget, and only President Trump can raise the money to keep the Center out of bankruptcy.

Today is the 47th anniversary of my father Solomon Lutnick’s death. He went in for his first chemotherapy injection, and the nurse made a catastrophic mistake and killed him. I had lost my mother 18 months earlier to lymphoma. Forty-seven years ago, I learned what hell smells and feels like.
My father was one of the most popular professors at Queens College. Funny and a great raconteur, he brought American history to life. His dissertation for his PhD at Columbia University was on how the British press misrepresented the Revolutionary War across the United Kingdom. He was calling out fake news in the late 1960s.
While I lost him when I was only 18, he taught me to focus on precision, to be great, not good, and to read, read, read.
Forty-seven years without my Dad, but I carry him inside of me, and I love telling stories about him.

When I was standing at the doorway of the World Trade Center 25 years ago, everyone was running out. Only the incredible men and women of the FDNY went IN.
I personally witnessed raw, pure bravery and heroism in the most dire of circumstances. I cannot have more respect than for those that serve in the FDNY.

Doug Gardner is my best friend. He’ll always be my best friend.
We first met in college and were great friends ever since.
Our careers came together, we raised our families together, and we shared every major milestone in our lives.
Doug had a huge heart. He absolutely loved his wife Jennifer and his children, Michael and Julia.
The weekend before 9/11 we were in Central Park together teaching our boys how to ride a bike. Doug was much more successful because Michael started riding very quickly.
Doug made me better. He loved his family, he loved his friends, and he brought joy everywhere he went.

My brother Gary was kindest and most fun person I knew. Gary was happy in every photo.
Over the past 25 years, nearly every day there has been a moment when I’ve thought to myself, I wish Gary was here.
Gary was killed at the young age of 36 for being an American and going to work that morning in the greatest country in the world.
I love and miss you every day, my brother.

While speaking yesterday at the G20 innovation summit about AI, I answered a question about the military actions in Iran, I misspoke. 18 members of our military have died, and to those families my heart breaks and I am so very sorry for their loss. I was thinking about the Venezuelan military operation where no service members died. As the 25th anniversary of 9/11 approaches, I am deeply thankful for our military and the sacrifices the men and women who serve our great country make, so such an attack, where I lost my brother Gary (36), my best friend Doug (39) and 656 other close friends and colleagues in the attacks on the World Trade Center, never happens again. Never!
