I own odd/rare gym equipment, but also conventional stuff. I use it all every week. Cooper Mitchell does great gym & tool reviews; they are great for knowing how to maximize home gym on a budget. & yes (you photonistas) I do outdoor training too; not shown b/c I value privacy.
I just realized, Andrew Huberman has one of the rarest Nautilus machines made: The Duo Pullover/Torso Arm Machine Combo. Arthur Jones started making combo machines because he believed in pre-exhaustion training (isolate the lats on the pullover, then immediately hit a compound pulling movement on the other side.) They never really took off in commercial gyms as they were massive, heavy, expensive, and only allowed one person to train at a time. Pretty sweet to see more and more people get into vintage equipment.

Thank you Brian! You’re acknowledged of course. The book was a slow evolution — I’m rarely early on anything (!) but I remain grateful for your reflections. You’re always peering over that next edge and yet, stayed. Much respect, and gratitude.
I remember when he started this. This is probably closer to a decade of work than a few years. He’d walk into my house and talk about all of these “things”/protocols. Rummage through my cupboards and eat my food and pass out on my couch talking about it all. He deserves everything he’s worked for, including what this brings. Congratulations @hubermanlab

Finally home and got PROTOCOLS by @hubermanlab I started watching Huberman when I was just a small medical student in 2018. Seeing him drop his magnum opus after years of communicating these concepts has been inspiring to say the least. Big congrats to him! And excellent work by the whole @scicomm team, especially powerhouse @R_Mohr When does part 2 come out???

As fast as I carefully can. Is what I strive for.
Underrated life advice: Become difficult to rush. The world will pressure you to rush into everything. Rushed decisions. Rushed relationships. Rushed conversations. Rushed timelines. There's power in rejecting that trend. Pause. Slow down. Create space to think clearly.

Important read.
Two people can have the same fasting glucose: 92 mg/dL. One may need very little insulin to keep it there. The other may need several times as much. Glucose tells you the result. Insulin tells you the cost. That is how metabolic disease can remain hidden for years.

The gut is much more than a digestive organ. It is a metabolic sensing and signaling system that helps shape how we respond to food, regulate appetite, and control metabolism. Really enjoyed going deep on this with Andrew Huberman, from gut biology and the microbiome to obesity, GLP-1 therapies, and endoscopic treatments.

Feeding your gut microbiome has protective effects against many gut illnesses, but also positive effects on brain health and your general health. Fiber (and low sugar fermented foods) have both been shown beneficial. @MetabolicEndo on Huberman Lab Podcast.

These types of books always raise suspicion of being crunchy/corny. 2 chapters in and so far-not the case. Science based and easy to follow protocols (don’t need to do them all at once of course). Just great and simple reminders on how to live better and enjoy life more. This is NOT an optimization bro-book. Well done @hubermanlab

“Microdosing” — a term taken from the psychedelic community, has become a popular way for people to take GLP meds with fewer side effects, and continually. Not to mention reduced cost. Dr Chris Thompson MD, Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School explains.
