High-impact, memorable domains

I bought 10~ .si names this week BUT don't forget that it's super important to look outwards. Quote from my friend @hypernames in the @dnx discord: "I'm seeing way more investors tying their whole persona and conviction to their own existing bags. Don't do this - I've been there before and it blinds you because everything becomes confirmation bias. To stay in the game for an extended period of time, you have to be open to feedback and constantly be looking for angles where you could be wrong."
Who are investing in .si names.

The magic of @DomainSherpa is making the invisible visible. Taking what's inside someone's head, their experience, instincts and thinking, and making it evident to everyone else. @J10enbaum is exceptionally good at this through his moderation. If you're a new or intermediate domain investor and you’re not watching every episode, you’re making it harder on yourself than it needs to be. There's an incredible amount of hard-won knowledge being shared for free. Not paying attention is almost like choosing to fail.

Some thoughts on eating my own dog food. I’m a co-founder of Efty but also a domain investor with around 1,600 domains. For years, I used Efty mostly for my higher-value names. The ones I anchor high, often negotiate, and aim to extract max value from. But for the bread-and-butter stuff? The $2K–$5K BIN names? I often pointed those somewhere else. Yep, a founder using the competition. Cancel me lol I just wanted the “Congratulations, your domain sold” email. Transfer it. Get paid and repeat. Efty's custom landers are amazing for control and extracting max value from each deal, but I felt they lacked the buyer trust and brand recognition needed for frictionless BIN sales in the bread-and-butter range. Efty Pay started changing that. Then we launched the new Efty.com marketplace. A killer marketplace with a safe, secure, and above all frictionless checkout and superb buyer support. Founder testimonials. Brand recognition and the right trust signals. And all that for still just 5% commission. So this year I pointed all 1,600 domains to the new Efty marketplace. I kept Afternic and Spaceship for distribution directly into the reg path. Here’s what happened: All of 2025: 38 domains sold $358,563 revenue 2026 year to date: 26 domains sold $508,811.70 revenue That’s 42% more revenue with 12 fewer sales and still plenty of the year left! In August alone: Wabu.com — $25,000 Sifu.ai — $22,000 Opsis.io — $3,000 VitalIntellect.com — $2,995 Vulkan.io — $2,995 Sqft.xyz — $2,000 All sold through Efty. Total: $57,990 Total commission: $2,899.50 I also sold Bite.gg for $6,494 through Afternic last month. Commission: $1,623.50. One $6,494 Afternic sale cost more than half the commission of six Efty sales totaling almost $58K. Anyway. TLDR: The guy telling everyone to use Efty is using Efty 😆

I keep coming back to this post by Leanne. It's probably the most under-rated banger I've read on X, especially for beginners... The game is inconsistent. You can end up blaming the landing pages, the marketplaces, the brokers, the competition, the appraisals, the market conditions... the list is endless. Or you can take action.
When things are on the quieter side you can either cry about it or put that time to good use. Below is days/weeks worth of work that will make you feel productive, proactive and also increase your chances of a sale or two. Bookmark it, print it, TAKE ACTION. Here's the boo-hoo it's quiet checklist: ✅ Check all your domains resolve to where they're supposed to. ✅ Check all names are priced (if you price names that is, most of you should). ✅ Check all your names are in the GD reg path (use the bulk search tool). ✅ Check your pricing tiers, remember those names you moonshot 2 years ago? Maybe it's time to bring them down to $1988. ✅ Check any Fast Transfer eligible names are opted in (including names you moved to another registrar more than 60 days ago). ✅ Check all your names are listed on Afternic and Sedo. ✅ Got names regged at Dynadot? List on their marketplace too. ✅ Need liquidity for renewals? Take any names you're dropping in the next 30-45 days, add to DNWE, reprice on all marketplaces and post them on NamePros (WHOLESALE pricing! If you hand regged it's likely only $20-$50). If you list on Atom add a wholesale price there too. ✅ Split your portfolio into buckets to see which buckets have been performing best, this will help direct new funds. Looking at your portfolio as a whole isn't very useful. ✅ Clean your portfolio database- check all names are added, expiry dates and renewal costs are correct. ✅ Make a dashboard of your portfolio key points so you have a birds eye view: renewal costs by month, sales by month/quarter- volume and $ (calendar), sales by month/quarter- volume and $ (historic), rolling 30/90 day sales (so you don't fixate on calendar months), yearly profitability. ✅ Add more metrics to your portfolio database: TLDs taken, cpc, sv, linkedin company count, open corporates company count, crunchbase company count. ✅ If you haven't yet, take DNAcademy. ✅ Listen to Domain Sherpa, The Breakfast Club, Domain Name Wire, Ten With Jen, Godaddy Academy Podcast, Kickstart Commerce, Brandable Insider, Digital Fortune, Josh․co Podcast, The Uncomfortable Podcast. ✅ Listen to domain centric Twitter Spaces (nitter.net/i/communities/18828166…). ✅ Dive into NameBio, specifically studying names sold at afternic, sedo, private, atom, daaz and domain market. ✅ Read Domain Name Wire, Domain Investing, DN Journal, Domain Incite, NamePros, Crunch․id ✅ Sign up to and read: Domain Smoke, Cyger Says, The GGRG Newsletter, Week in Domaining 🥵 get to work

This might be a first for me… three sales in one day! I have just under 1300 domains listed on Afternic - what are the odds? 😊

You have to get uncomfortable to get comfortable. I was reminded of this while hiking the mountains with my youngest daughter this summer. Halfway up: “I NEVER want to go hiking again.” Back at the pool that afternoon: “Hiking was the BEST part of the day!” Funny how that works. Getting sober was hell. Now I get a natural high every day. While my friends were partying, I spent nights and weekends hunting for domain names and poored every spare dollar into building my portfolio. Now that portfolio buys me freedom while most of my friends of that time are lockd into corporate life. The struggle comes first. The rewardd almost always comes later. Get uncomfortable.

If you’re a beginner, there’s very limited downside to sharing with high transparency - either within a private group or here on X. You often don’t have any exclusive edge or secret sauce yet, but you can open yourself up for feedback, build relationships and learn from others

The saddest part of AI proliferating through all forms of written communication is that we risk disconnecting from each other. If I can’t know for sure that what you've written has truly originated as thoughts from your own mind, I can’t build an emotional connection with you.

We work hard at educating buyers at Efty. Over the years, we've seen exactly what moves negotiations forward and what kills them. So I wrote a playbook for buyers. It digs into the do's: be the real deal, open with a number worth countering.. And the don'ts: dancing around the budget, bluffing, or in some cases, negotiating at all. If you sell domains, this is the piece you want your buyers to read before they reach out: The Insider Guide to Closing the Domain You Want efty.com/knowledge/post/141/…
