Previously, when we talked about AI Agents, we were mostly discussing whether they could search, whether they could analyze, whether they could help you make decisions.
But the real question is:
When AI already knows what to do, how does it actually carry out the tasks?
@AEON_Community recently launched the AI Card, which provides a very direct answer.
You can think of it as:
> Issuing a card to an AI Agent.
And this card doesn't give the Agent unlimited permission to spend your money.
You can set it up in advance:
Shopping amount limit
Single transaction limit
Total budget
Usage scope
For example, you can directly tell the system:
> "Issue this Agent a card with a $100 limit."
The Agent can then complete payments within that $100 range.
Most importantly, the Agent doesn't need to directly access your main wallet or bank card.
Your assets remain in your own wallet, while the AI Card essentially carves out a separate disposable amount, specifically authorized for the Agent to use.
This is actually a very critical layer in AI payments:
It's not handing the wallet to the AI, but giving the AI Spending Power within a certain range.
In the Agentic Checkout scenario, this logic is easy to understand.
You tell the AI:
> "Help me find a product under $100, and buy it if it's suitable."
Agent searches for products โ compares โ adds to cart โ calls AEON AI Card โ completes payment.
The entire process doesn't require the AI to obtain your main wallet private key, nor does it need to expose your full credit card details to the Agent.
But what I think makes the AEON AI Card even more noteworthy is:
It's not just a payment tool for Checkout.
Checkout is just the most intuitive application scenario right now.
In the future, whenever an AI Agent needs to make purchases, payments, or execute paid tasks on behalf of the user, it can have its own AI Card, with clear budgets and spending boundaries set.
You can imagine:
A shopping Agent with a $100 procurement budget
A travel Agent with a $500 booking budget
A work Agent with a fixed software subscription limit
An automation Agent with its own task execution budget
Different Agents can have different Spending Power.
This means that in the future, we might not just have one wallet and handle all payments ourselves.
Instead:
The wallet belongs to you.
Budgets are allocated to different Agents.
Agents execute on your behalf within authorized limits.
So, the AEON AI Card isn't essentially just a "card for AI to use in Checkout."
It's more like a set of programmable spending permissions configured for AI Agents.
You decide where the money can be spent and how much can be spent at most.
The AI decides how to complete the tasks.
As AI Agents shift from "recommending for you" to "executing for you," payment permissions may become one of the most important pieces of infrastructure in the entire Agent Economy.
And what the AEON AI Card is trying to solve is precisely:
> How to give AI true spending capabilities while always keeping it within user-defined boundaries.
AI doesn't need to own your wallet.
It just needs to have the Spending Power you've authorized it to use.
This might be the core value of the AI Card.
