What Sky News Fails To Mention: Scotland has lower child poverty rates than England & Wales & has seen reductions in recent periods, while the other nations largely scrapped or never adopted equivalent binding statutory income targets after the UK-level ones were scrapped

On Jan 7th, 2024 a Scottish Labour demand to cut the number of Health Boards dominated BBC Scotland. It led Radio, TV & Online. BMA Scotland didn't oppose the idea. The trade union implicitly backed it for over two and a half years, only opposing it when the SNP proposed it.

An NHS centre in Nottingham had its grand opening today but can't accept patients because it failed water quality checks. It coincides with a Critical Incident in the same region. The two BBC reporters casually trivialise the Critical Incident and the building failure. Can you imagine BBC Scotland reporters excusing NHS failures in this manner? No, neither can we. It shows the different approaches taken on NHS reporting by the BBC each side of the border. It's sensationalised and heavily politicised in Scotland.

Labour MSP Monica Lennon, speaking on BBC Radio Scotland, claimed the 'fire & rehire' threat by Glasgow Council was "unprecedented". This was false and *should* have been challenged. Labour made the same threat in Birmingham last year & in Merthyr Tydfil in 2014. In the early 2010s multiple Labour run councils in England employed fire & rehire [then called dismissal & re-engagement]. These included Coventry and Cumbria. Other non-Labour councils to have employed fire & rehire include Devon County Council in March 2025 and Worcestershire County Council employed in 2024. BBC Scotland, in its eagerness to help Labour attack the SNP, invited a Labour politician onto a programme to comment on the Glasgow situation but failed to carry out *basic* research into Labour's own history at local authority level. What should have been an interview where a politician was challenged became a one-sided anti-SNP rant underpinned by misinformation with an interviewer who metaphorically nodded in agreement.

Two years ago Michael Shanks said the GB Energy HQ in Aberdeen would initially employ locally based people in the hundreds and would eventually expand beyond that. Today it has less than 60 locally based employees. Shanks lied.

Please forward this to anyone who complains about benefits going to the poor.
This is a picture of the biggest benefits claimant in the UK. They claim an eye watering £17,500,000,000 a year. The same as 4.4m people on benefits. How? Because they claim ALL their costs, every wage, every oil rig, every tanker. Completely nationalised, but the profits are Privatised.
