$INTC Intel bullish case 🐂 for FY25 and FY26. The potential for growth in Intel’s stock, catalyzed by the foundry network enhancement / investment in manufacturing capacity, presents an undervalued opportunity for substantial market capitalization expansion. This growth potential, estimated to increase Intel’s market capitalization by at least 30%, is further bolstered by the regulatory policy changes anticipated by the Trump administration next year. Year-over-year earnings growth anticipated to surpass 200% due to the company’s substantial production plans, the conclusion of its high-investment phase, and the implementation of in-house manufacturing strategies that will lead to cost reductions. BREAKING: President Trump has rejected Iran’s proposal for a 7-day ceasefire and has told aides he expects to begin bombing Iran after the November midterms, per WSJ. Iran’s proposal would have reopened the Strait of Hormuz and resumed nuclear talks in return for the US lifting its blockade of Iranian ports. Trump is reportedly skeptical Iran will meet his demands and has told his staff that he sees a renewed bombing campaign as likely. Today marks day 209 of the Iran War.

JPMorgan raised $AKAM Akamai target price to $167 from $158 after the company announced an $11.6 billion multi-year agreement with Anthropic to support its growing CPU workload demands. C P U. $INTC $AMD
$AKAM Akamai signed an $11.6 billion cloud services deal with Anthropic on Thursday, and issued a warrant that could give the AI lab up to 5% stake in the cloud company, sending its shares surging. The agreement secures a long-term commitment from one of the fastest-growing AI companies, and adds to more than $2.8 billion in multi-year cloud infrastructure deals Akamai announced across its customer base this year. Under the seven-year contract, the warrant would give Anthropic the right to purchase Series B shares at $111.33 each that converts into about 7.7 million shares of Akamai's common stock. A portion of the warrant representing about 2% of Akamai's common stock outstanding is tied to Anthropic's $11.6 billion commitment, while the remaining 3% would vest if the companies expand the agreement by up to another $9 billion. Barclays has been flagging the same setup since at least spring of this year: Rising yields compressing the equity risk premium, 5% on the 10-year as a danger zone, AI/tech looking stretched, oil and tightening as extra risk - and then they stay overweight equities anyway. We are in a different market and different economy now. June: AI trade in a “warning zone,” 5% yields as the clearer pain level. July: earnings now have to do the heavy lifting as yields grind higher. Mid-September: 5% is an “inflection point.” Yesterday: “three reasons to stick with stocks despite rising yields”, but still not derisking. Today: “breaking point” / extra return over bonds near multi-decade lows… but still overweight, just expect vol into Q3 earnings. They get credit if stocks finally crack on yields, and they stay on the right side of the AI / earnings tape if they don’t. The low ERP point itself isn’t new either. People have been saying stocks aren’t being paid much extra versus bonds for a couple of years. Markets have mostly ignored it because earnings and AI capex kept carrying valuations. Same note, slightly hotter adjectives, same positioning. Citi dropped the other half of the pair trade on the same feed which was buy the next dip, still overweight. Classic two-handed research.
BARCLAYS WARNS STOCKS ARE NEARING A BREAKING POINT Barclays warns that rising bond yields are making equities less attractive, with the extra return stocks offer over bonds near multi-decade lows. Despite resilient earnings and AI-driven growth, oil above $100 and renewed central-bank tightening are increasing market risks. The bank remains overweight equities, but expects volatility to persist ahead of Q3 earnings as investors assess how much higher yields stocks can withstand.

$MU Micron with some Upgrades / Price Target Updates this morning, ahead of Earnings on Wednesday, 9/30, AMC BMO Capital is maintaining its Buy rating on Micron Technology $MU, Price Target $1,300. Implied upside: +20.31% Analyst: Harsh Kumar, BMO Capital BMO Capital initiated coverage on Micron in late August with an Outperform/Buy rating and the same $1,300 target. The firm highlighted Micron’s leverage to AI infrastructure, expected sustained demand for high-bandwidth memory (HBM) as data-center operators expand capacity, tight industry supply that should support higher DRAM and NAND pricing, and long-term customer agreements that add visibility. Memory content has become increasingly important in AI systems. The rally has been driven by the AI memory supercycle. Micron’s HBM capacity for 2026 was reported as sold out, and the company has been gaining share in the high-end memory used in AI accelerators. Wall Street is broadly bullish: - Consensus rating is Strong Buy / Buy. - Average 12-month price targets cluster around $1,295 - $1,515 depending on the source. Rosenblatt maintained Buy with a $1,500 target. Wells Fargo recently kept Overweight but trimmed its target from $1,525 to $1,400, citing continued near-term upside and favorable supply-demand through 2027. High-end targets from other firms have gone as high as $2,000. Micron reports fiscal Q4 2026 earnings after the close on Wednesday, September 30th, 2026, with a conference call scheduled that afternoon. This will be closely watched for HBM commentary, pricing, and guidance.

$INTC CEO Lip-Bu Tan’s key statements & comprehensive breakdown from Q&A with Ed Nelson at AI Infra Summit 2026. 1. On culture / the Cadence playbook: - "I like bad news. Tell me all the bad news." - "If you screw up, they take full responsibility. The one I really don’t like is starting to point fingers at others." - "Delight the customer. Go the extra mile… listen very carefully… then really make the changes." 2. On the Intel rebuild: - "When I took over it was over 100,000 people and I had to bring it down to 78,000… instead of 10–12 layers you bring it down to four to five." - "Manufacturing is critical for Intel on the foundry and the most advanced packaging." 3. On AI “slowdown” calls: - "AI is much bigger than the internet’s impact. Some correction is kind of natural and I don’t overreact to it." - "We live in Silicon Valley. It’s a bubble… different parts of the country [have] a very strong anti-AI sentiment. Leaders need a more positive narrative." - "At Intel I completely embraced AI… Gemini, Anthropic, Perplexity… design and chip manufacturing." 4. On Habana / Gaudi: - "When Habana Labs was sold to Intel, Intel didn’t keep the team. The founders left and started Element Labs… It’s a mistake. You have to empower the founders." Contrast he drew was Amazon kept the Annapurna team. 5. On CPU demand: - "The CPU right now is in high demand. In reinforcement learning, agentic AI… control plane, orchestration… [CPU] is actually very useful." - "They can only provide some percentage of customer [demand]. Many of my CEO friends call me up: I need more." 6. On Nvidia / Coopetition: - "You can’t do everything. You cannot own everything. Pick the area you’re really good at and double down… partner [where others] have much stronger areas of excellence." - "U.S. government… Masa… Jensen… we find a way we can work together." - "CUDA is fantastic software… Your CPU, my GPU… engineering-to-engineering collaboration." - "That’s called coopetition. Some areas we collaborate, some areas they compete… we can create a bigger market so we’re both going to win." 7. On the raise, 18A, 14A, packaging: - "Last year I’m not ready to go to the public market… This year I’m going to own the number. Underpromise and overdeliver." - "Capex is huge for foundry and advanced packaging." - "Our 18A is in volume production now." - "14A… 0.9 PDK will be done in October and 1.0 PDK in Q1 of next year. The key thing is performance, yield, defect density, variations, and cycle time." - "Advanced packaging… 14× the radical integration and only two layers, not three layers like CoWoS. We will have a chance to take the leadership." - "The substrate is very tight. Only four key players, two in Japan, two in Taiwan." - "Next-gen AI needs that big packaging: CPU in the middle, HBM outside, then high-speed I/O." - "$23 billion raise. We’re oversubscribed by 5.6 times." - "Intel is an iconic company… important for the industry and very important for the United States. We’re going to build that new Intel." 8. On what founders should solve: - "Memory prices have gone up a lot — five, six times, seven times… you cannot have 70–80% of your cost come from memory." - "Power is very important… also how to drive the architecture to make it lower power." - "Optical becomes very important." - "Cooling is a big problem… liquid cooling, microfluidic cooling." - "The future is going to be the whole system approach. Give Jensen credit. My friend Lisa Su has done that. Stay tuned. More announcements coming." My takeaways: This quote intrigued me: "At Intel I completely embraced AI… Gemini, Anthropic, Perplexity… design and chip manufacturing." Memory is the quote that matters from this tape. He says he called it early, it happened, and 2027 gets worse, 5–7x prices, projects slipping, low-end BOM blown out. 18A in volume now; 14A PDK 0.9 in October, 1.0 in Q1. Scoreboard is yield, defects, variation, cycle time. Packaging and substrates is the second bottleneck he is openly underwriting with the raise. Two-layer vs CoWoS, Hynix hire back to Intel, 2+2 substrate oligopoly. Capital story is sequenced with private partners first (USG / Jensen / Masa) because he wasn’t ready for the public market; this year own the number, ~$23B, 5.6x oversubscribed. CPU tightness mentioned here too, but he said “some percentage” and CEOs calling, which isn't the explicit “we can only supply 50% of customers” line from the Jeetu/Splunk interview. Software/systems closer: rack-scale, low GPU utilization, virtualization layer, “strong software leader coming,” explicit credit to Jensen and Lisa Su for already selling the rack.
$INTC Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan will take stage tomorrow, September 15th, at the AI Infra Summit. He will speak at 1:15PM EST in a mainstage fireside with Ed Nelson. The session is titled "The AI Opportunity: Silicon to Systems." Tan is set to talk about collaboration across the ecosystem and how silicon, systems, and software drive the next phase of AI. Intel is expected to show progress on AI infrastructure across edge, enterprise, cloud, and physical AI, following the systems-level approach it outlined at Computex.

FED PLANS TO EASE OVERSIGHT FOR LARGE BANKS The Fed is preparing to raise asset thresholds that trigger tougher bank regulation, Reuters reports. The highest threshold could rise from $700 billion to around $960 billion, while some requirements starting at $100 billion could shift closer to $150 billion. The changes would give regional banks more room to grow without additional regulatory costs and could unlock a new wave of bank M&A.

I resigned from Google today. I enjoyed my work and loved the people, but my GDM team was working on a new generation of chips to make AI much faster and cheaper, and I think AI is already progressing too fast, so I had to quit.
