Zach mentioned the work of @REAS more than once, and in fact I had first learned how to code a for loop with Processing (well before p5js), which leads to another Moment highlight:

Fast forward to December 2020, and Casey & Processing Foundation reached out to collaborate on an edition of 22 video prints that would be part of their Annual Fundraiser. They invited Dave Whyte to create the artwork, and the moment was an extremely full circle one -- learning to code in Processing in 2008 to collaborating on their fundraiser 12 years later with IO. 💜

Zach was my ( @jmsaavedra's ) professor back in 2009, in an MFA program @parsonsdesign, teaching creative coding with @openframeworks.
We collaborated a couple times on hardware projects after that, but the first IO project was creating physicals for "box in box in box", a collection Zach dropped on @niftygateway in Jan 2023.
Beyond teaching foundational software development, Zach always had a focus on conceptual history of algorithmic and audio/visual art. Oskar Fischinger was one pioneer that stuck from his classes, but he introduced us to many digital art pioneers...

Since launching in 2019, we haven't stopped building. We recently announced a Wood version of our 26" XXL product, which can come provisioned with a specific artwork, or with a White Walls integration.
Since it does have WiFi it can support generative artworks that require connectivity such as Infinite Garden by @lennyjpg, built on @shape.
