That was the loudest signal at AI Infra Summit this week. 3 takeaways from the rooms I was in: Context is the real bottleneck. AI can't do useful work without your company's internal knowledge, decision history, and workflows. The model isn't what's holding you back. Your data plumbing is. Cybersecurity is the immediate risk. AI makes attacks faster and cheaper. If your defenses are still manual, you've already lost the speed game. Defense has to be automated too. Stop using one model for everything. Frontier models for the hard problems. Cheaper models for routine work. The teams winning with AI treat model choice like a cost structure, not a loyalty. In "The Evolution of Physics", Einstein says that what matters is to pick and frame the question; the solution is mostly technical. That’s even more true now: AI is commoditizing technical. Humans' role will be to decide what truly matters and frame it so machines can solve it.

It still looked like this when I came there to study in the mid-nineties. Even more so outside of Tokyo.

I'll be at the Forbes Immigrant 250 ceremony in New York this week, connecting with founders and leaders who've built lasting things in this country. The event celebrates 250 individuals, but to me, it represents something larger: the millions of immigrants building businesses and solving problems that matter. Looking forward to the conversation and connecting with other leaders in NYC.

With all the doom and gloom about AI recently, I remain hugely optimistic, especially about Physical AI. In fact, I think @PhysicalAI is the best thing that happened to humanity since the invention of the computer mouse by Douglas Engelbart in 1964. At AI Infra summit in Santa Clara.

We got stuck in Nagoya when a flash flood hit. One moment it was raining; minutes later, our street was a river. Cars flooded and died around us. The Manufacturing Leadership Council recently published a survey that validates some of my observations. 53% of organizations report that their data comes from incompatible systems and formats. Another 28% lack the skills to analyze their data effectively. Counterintuitively, more data often means less clarity, and more sensors make it harder to make decisions.
