Alright, I want to clear up some misunderstandings.
First of all, Orca is an original fork of dolphin. It DOES NOT use any code from the brawlback project WHATSOEVER, it is a totally different architecture for rollback.
Second, Orca is Open Source. I'm about to post the repo, I'm just finishing up documentation explaining exactly how it works right now so other people can have an easier time building on top of it. In hindsight we should have delayed the announcement video until all the code and documentation were publicly available, but it will be up shortly.
Third, I am the only person who worked on Orca (name pending), neither
@LiquidHbox nor anyone else helped. I decided to work on Orca for Brawl about a week ago after spending the last month implementing rollback for 64 and melee on yougame using the same emulator rollback based technique and thought it should work just as well for brawl which it did.
The reason why I asked Hbox to credit the Brawlback team is because their work helped inform mine even though I used none of their code. I wanted them to share in the success. Developing new open source software is all about experimentation, and knowing what works well for others and what doesn't work so well is critical in deciding what the next experiment should be. Open source is all about collaboration and about giving credit when people make advancements even if those advancements specifically didn't lead to a breakthrough, they are all learnings for eventual success.
So once again thank you to
@Fizzi36 @BrawlbackTeam Dolphin and anyone who's contributed towards the goal of Rollback Brawl. None of us could push the bar forward without the shared foundation of all the people who came before.
