I don't know if my personal opinions should be particularly taken as a statement of any authority, but I essentially gave my thoughts here. I would also say debugging falls under acceptable parameters.
I would say "help" essentially stops being help when it creates something you haven't already done yourself to a reasonable degree. Capcom probably has the right of it. Even 1% of code not made yourself or derivative of your own work is too much. Hope this helps.

I’m bringing Tekken Tag 2 to PC through native recompilation.
The original Xbox 360 PowerPC code is statically translated to C++, then compiled directly to x64. Shaders and console-specific systems are replaced with native PC equivalents.
No Xenia, no PowerPC JIT running in the background.
This approach keeps the original game logic intact while giving me direct control over input, rendering and networking — which is essential for reducing latency, supporting 8 kHz controllers properly and implementing rollback netcode.
