Today is devastating day. I’m sad, I’m pissed, I’m frustrated. This is perhaps one of the biggest FUs to women’s rights. After all the progress made so far, we are now taking more than 2 steps back in advancing women’s rights. I’m scared for what’s next.

It’s the official first day of summer, and the Bay Area decided to celebrate this by being hotter today than the LA/OC area. I wish it didn’t. 🥵

I love science and academia and the environment it provides. But seeing this poster today made me question a lot. How is it that I have a PhD but in a position that pays less than a general manager in the Bay Area?
Thinking about this shit hurts. Does it actually get better?

Didn't go wild before my PhD, but during. This was during my 3rd year of my PhD program. Dyed my ponytail red with a gradient going towards orange (thanks @cycl0pentadiene for your help in dying my hair!)
They said to go wild the summer before your PhD, so I dyed my hair. Living my teenage dream at 28. 🥲#phdchat
