Rivals Recruits “On the Radar” is built primarily for the millions of athletes who go unnoticed in the recruiting process and are generally confused about how it works. For three decades, our business has scouted elite/blue-chip athletes. Now, we can build a platform and community for the masses. We have been building Rivals Recruits behind the scenes for 2+ years and officially rolled it out in November of last year. It is a product and service we are incredibly excited about, and it serves a market that desperately needs information and transparency. Since everyone else is telling one piece of the story, let me share more details. Rivals Recruits is building a public-facing database and platform, “On the Radar,” to report on the recruits that our industry has never listed or ranked. We didn't have a platform to database up-and-coming athletes or those who aren’t on the P4’s radar. This is a fundamental addition to the Rivals business, and we believe parents, athletes, and coaches need it. We intend to disrupt the entire space by making it available and transparent. Rivals Recruits has three layers, not just the one making the headlines. 1) Rivals On the Radar Grade (free). Rivals now issues scouting grades on non-star on-the-radar recruits. Historically, we didn't have a platform to grade these players. Instead of hiding away in a scout’s notebook and never being mentioned, these players will receive a non-star On the Radar grade and be listed in the database. This is a significant revelation for the recruiting and scouting space. In fact, most ranked kids in the On the Radar DB will come from this category. This is 100% free to everyone. 2) Claim your profile. We are building a database for all athletes in the U.S. With their parents' consent, athletes can “claim their profile” and manage their message, highlights, stats, accolades, etc. This service costs $29.99 and renews at $59.99. It also includes a free On3 | Rivals National subscription. It is a robust product with numerous features being added each week to help athletes and parents through the recruiting process. 3) Player Evaluation. Athletes, through parental consent, have the opportunity to purchase a detailed scouting evaluation. The evaluation is to help guide the athlete/parent in the recruiting process, see how they stack up against the blue-chips, and includes strengths and areas of improvement. Once the athlete receives the report, they can elect to keep it private and out of public view. This service costs $399 and requires significant time from our scouts to produce. We have been 100% transparent and extremely proud of the work being done behind the scenes to produce these evaluations. Payment guarantees the evaluation. It does not guarantee stars, a ranking, a rating increase, or recruiting interest. For thirty years, our teams have worked overtime to build great products and services. We are incredibly motivated to build Rivals Recruits and give athletes, parents, and coaches a platform to share their story, control their message, and learn about the recruiting process. Nothing changes for the roughly 6,000 star-rated prospects Rivals already scouts and ranks every year. We will continue to identify, evaluate, and rank those players exactly as we always have, for free. Rivals Recruits simply expands our coverage beyond that group.

I got hired 5 years ago by On3/Rivals to be a national scout and rank players. I worked in scouting at LSU, Baylor, Texas A&M and was the Director of Scouting at Texas Tech. So my background as an evaluator is nearly 12 years total with experience at the highest levels of CFB. I get these prospects in my inbox. I give a film review (about a paragraph or two), scoring on 10 traits with explanations for each score, and then about ~500 words in a scouting summary that explain what I saw from an athletic, technical and projection perspective. Then a list of areas to improve, and areas they excel, and a player comparison. And then I call the coach to get an idea of who the kid is, how they work, how are the grades, how’s his support system, and how he feels about the kid and his ability in general. Then we send it off to them. That all comes from me, not AI or anything outside of my brain. I really do take pride in my work with these reports because I want to firstly, be right. I think as evaluators we all want to do our best to be correct in our projections and recommendations. And secondly, genuinely give my advice and opinion on how I feel about the kid as a prospect and how I would go about the recruiting process, especially as someone who has been tasked with evaluating/offering/recruiting prospects for college teams. Will I always be correct? No. Will I have a kid I grade as a D2 prospect end up as a FCS signee? I’m sure that’s very possible. But will I always give my GENUINE opinion based off of all the information I can possibly gather in order to give the kid, his family and his coach the most authentic response I possibly can? 100%. Is the kid I evaluate guaranteed to become a 3-star? No, those are primarily reserved for prospects who we expect to sign at the FBS level (with some exceptions of course, like someone who has the ability to be recruited by G5 schools but maybe ends up signing FCS). But are they given a grade that coincides with the level I projected them to and that grade is able to seen by anyone that goes to the Rivals On the Radar page? Yes. Ultimately, if someone wants to pay for what I have always felt is a consultation from an evaluator, they can do that if the price is reasonable for them. It may not be what they want to hear, and it may not end up getting them a 3-star rating. But it will give them MY honest opinion, recommendation and advice. If you think it’s worth $500 to know what I think your future is as a collegiate prospect? Go for it. If you don’t? I totally get it and understand. There’s been a ton of interest in Rivals Recruits, and I wanted to address some topics around the product. This service primarily targets FCS and below athletes. Rivals Recruits is a product we have been building for a couple of years, and we see a huge need for it in the market. For decades, we have focused most of our efforts on elite/blue-chip prospects while underserving the vast majority of high school athletes. This platform and scouting product give athletes and parents more education on the recruiting process and a better understanding of where they fit in the ecosystem. • AI is not involved in the scouting evaluations. • The reports are thorough and take many scouting hours to produce. It is a costly endeavor because of the hours each scout puts into the process. • The same scouts who evaluate the blue chips create the evaluations. This doesn’t change the coverage and scouting of the star-rated and blue-chip players. Rivals has done a great job uncovering these elites for decades. So many players go unnoticed, and Rivals has an enormous platform to tell these stories and address an underserved area of the market. We are giving honest feedback. This is definitely being misrepresented in the replies. They aren't doing this for 3 stars to get upgraded to 4 or 5 stars, it's not pay for a specific rating. It's an opportunity for guys who feel like they are going under the radar or guys at tiny schools to get eyes on them

1.04M kids played HS football last season. About 6,600 held a Rivals star rating… roughly 0.6%. That's not a talent gap. It's a capacity gap.
