Students of color are more likely to live in poverty and face harsher discipline in school — and access to mental health staff has declined for Black students since 2008.
These students need more counselors and mental health support, not police.
Black students in NJ were disproportionately suspended & unnecessarily reported to the police in the 2022-2023 school year.
