Tesla is doing what Bill Gates claimed was impossible. There will be 1000 Tesla Semi vehicles built each week. Semi is steer by wire, like the Cybertruck. The Thermal system shares a build with Gold Cybercab, with some modifications for size. The cabin noise is reduced and it has a practical roll down window for work purposes (Tesla listened to customer feedback) Fleet uptime is over 98% which shows incredible reliability. outsourcing critical thought to 'experts' is a counter-signal. funny enough, when i get asked what background i have that justifies my opinions, i generally respond quickly with "i have zero credentials, just an (arguably) unhealthy obsession" i used to be embarrassed, but now i realize its a competitive advantage when combined with an open mind.

When I talked to Gates in person, he said “experts tell me a long range electric semi truck is impossible”. However, when I asked what his assumptions were about battery energy density and vehicle energy consumption per mile, which are the two numbers needed to determine range, he did not know either number! I also offered to let him take one of our semi trucks for independent testing, but he declined. Not sure what more I could have done. 🤷‍♂️

NEWS: Starlink maritime users could see near gigabit speeds by December. SpaceX has told enterprise customers it will roughly double throughput on the Performance Gen 3 kit. That dish sells for $2,000 and peaks at 475Mbps today. Doubling would push downloads close to 950Mbps. The upgrade rides on the first V3 satellites, set to launch on Starship September 28. Our conversation built on President Trump’s discussion with Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi earlier this week and reflected the strength of the U.S.–Japan partnership.
