lmao the infuriating part of the credit card debate is that people are acting like it's simply untrue that you can pay your credit card in full every month and reap benefits or rewards from the bank. like there is no gotcha! that is literally how it works!
if you don't want a credit card or would rather use a debit card i don't care lol but why are people under the impression that you're somehow being massively scammed if you use a credit card responsibly 😭
meet me at the dog haus biergarten in wicker park where i've never seen more than 3 people in the establishment at any given time oh also it opens at 8am every day
sooooooooooo according to the Internet, I should be constantly be putting myself into micro-debt and getting myself out of it every month to improve my dumbass "credit score" and MAYBE get enough money to get like an iPad or two. thanks capitalism
People so mad about my credit card tweet is so funny because if you spent $5,000 in a month and got 2 percent back, you’re only going to get $100 back. That’s not from the credit company, that’s literally blood money from someone else’s outstanding balance generating interest lol
Credit cards feel like such a scam that way, you're meant to leave a little bit unpaid every month so it gains interest but not too much that you're in notable debt, and that's how you start upping your credit score, but it's so tedious and stupid honestly
Community note
Carrying a balance isn't required to build credit. Scores rely on on-time payments and low utilization—paying your statement in full each month builds credit without paying interest. myfico.com/credit-educati… cnbc.com/2024/05/03/how
Sometimes stupid discourses are clarifying, like “credit cards, how do they work” people are the same guys that don’t understand supply/demand in housing and think groceries are expensive because the store is evil. It’s a whole worldview defined by being confused by basic things
Love seeing people think credit cards are somehow ripping people off when you just pay them off before interest hits and get litterally free shit for doing so
Whenever there is discourse about credit cards, insurance, 401Ks, etc on here, I am reminded that a sizable portion of the population doesn’t actually understand the world around them and think things just inexplicably happen to them
Having a train that takes you directly to the airport is genuinely one of the top 10 things a city can offer. No expensive taxis, no sitting in traffic, no begging someone to drop you off. Just get on the train and arrive at the airport. Every major city should have this.
