After many attempts at growing pineapple at Chicuinaco, the loan survivor has a fruit. For some reason these are incredibly hard for me to grow, so I am ecstatic to see it fruit. Growing in El Salvador 🇸🇻

Productive morning before the rains move in here at Chicuinaco. 35 cacao and 6 orchid shrub seeds planted in seed bags. Bonus was one of the last mangoes of 2026. Upcoming wet weather should help sprout our seeds. Growing in El Salvador 🇸🇻

Yes, Green Oaxacan Maiz does make green tortillas and pupusas. Seems to be a little softer and sweeter than the traditional white maiz, but delicious nonetheless the less. We’ll grow more next year after a successful experiment. Growing new things in El Salvador 🇸🇻 at Chicuinaco

Beautiful sunrise this morning, before I headed out to do maintenance on area schools drinking water systems. It’s nice getting out to the nearby communities and seeing the beautiful El Salvador landscape.

The yield on the Oaxacan Green maiz. Approximately 2# for cooking trial and 100+ seeds for next season. I started with 2 25 seed starter packs. Windstorm knocked it down impeding pollination, so I feel pretty good about the yield. Taste test coming soon with taste review. Grow 🇸🇻

Yesterday’s project was cobbling together a chicken coop for our hen that was donated to us. Tried to go free range, but Krispy refused to believe that inside our house was not free or range. Building in El Salvador is often an adventure 😂
