JUST IN: El Niño just Broke its Hottest Temperature on Record🥵 The El Niño 3.4 region average SST just surpassed 2015 for the highest temp ever measured in the El Niño (3.4) region. (Recently it broke the SST anomaly, this time it’s the absolute temp) It comes 2 months earlier than typical peak (late Nov/ Dec). That means there’s still 2 months left of intensification in the 2026 event. And all meteorological signs show it will continue. Oceans set an all-time record! 75 nations set record highs in August. I am an optimist that the clean energy transition will largely displace fossil fuels, but a pessimist that it will do so fast enough to eliminate risks of dangerous climate impacts from burning fossil fuels.

4/ The real reason for the invasion of Venezuela was to allow political allies of Trump to profit from the country's oil. The schemes already underway are dizzying in their scope. The first was a massive contract to move oil out of Venezuela to a huge Trump donor.

It’s official, the 2026 El Niño has broken a record for the highest ocean anomaly in 170+ years… Incredibly reaching that threshold a full 2 months ahead of 2015’s record of +3.02C set on Nov 18th.
