When your trial whispers that God does not love you, look at the cross. When your guilt says He cannot forgive you, look at the cross. When your suffering says He has abandoned you, remember the cross where He abandoned His Son so that He would never abandon you.

Trials do not make disobedience right. They only make it feel reasonable. Ask what sin you have renamed since your suffering started, and then call it what God calls it.

Have you spent any time recently thinking about the power of the gospel? Are you still amazed, or has the luster worn off? Do you remember what Jesus has saved you from? Lord, remind me, I pray.

You do not have to fix your heart before you come to Jesus. You come to Jesus so He can fix your heart.

If your faith has never required you to believe something your culture mocks, you have not yet been tested. Comfortable Christianity and biblical Christianity are not the same.

The resurrection is not a metaphor for hope. Paul said if it did not happen in history, our faith is worthless and we are still in our sins. Christianity means nothing without an empty tomb.

Everyone wants a faith that costs nothing and offends no one. That is not faith. That is preference with a Bible verse.

Thank you for worshiping with us this weekend at Redeemer!  Pastor @jonbenz continued our Father, Son, & Holy Spirit series in John 14:15–17, reminding us of the comfort believers have through the Holy Spirit who is with us and in us. Whatever brought you in troubled this morning, you did not leave church with a plan. You left with a Person. That has always been enough for everyone who has ever trusted Him.

Paul asked God three times to remove his thorn. God said no and gave him grace to endure it instead. Believing Jesus answers prayer does not mean He removes what you are asking Him to remove. It means He has not stopped listening.
