Anti-Zionism is not antisemitism! Public Safety Canada has described anti-Zionism as a form of antisemitism. This sets a dangerous precedent for Palestinian rights. Send an email to tell Canada’s Minister of Public Safety to retract this statement. cjpme.org/antizionism

Over 200 Jewish Canadians have signed our open letter calling on Immigration Minister Lena Diab and the Government of Canada to urgently facilitate the evacuation of Palestinian students in Gaza who have already been admitted to Canadian universities and colleges. These students have secured admission, scholarships, and opportunities to continue their education. What many cannot secure on their own is a safe way out of Gaza and a workable path through Canada’s visa process. Palestinian students should not be treated as a threat to Jewish safety simply because of their nationality. Canada has the ability to give these students a path out of genocide and back into classrooms. It must do so. Read the full letter: ijvcanada.org/open-letter-to…

The National Post published an article that appears to incite violence against NDP leader Avi Lewis. In response, the former head of the Jewish Defence League in Canada argues that the National Post is "correct." This is what the National Post is inciting. This should be taken seriously as a violent threat from a far-right, racist organization with a history of violence against Palestinians.

At Canada’s biggest annual AI summit in Montreal, journalist Marcus Werner hit the floor—and the street outside—to ask politicians, executives, and protesters alike: is the public demand for AI real, or is it manufactured hype to sell Canadians on immensely profitable tech?

Mayor Chow’s response to inheriting a $1.8 billion operating budget deficit upon taking office was not to simply cut services. Instead, her administration has advanced affordable housing, public transit, community safety and infrastructure renewal projects while investing in the City’s internal capacity and protecting public services.    Her new deal with the province has secured structural changes to the City’s financial position, creating the room needed to properly fund and maintain municipal services and infrastructure while improving Toronto’s credit rating.   Toronto Civic Employees Union CUPE Local 416 is proud to endorse Mayor Olivia Chow for re-election on October 26.  We encourage all residents of the City of Toronto to join us in helping make Toronto a cleaner, safer, more caring and connected city.     #StrongerTogether

Appalled by an opinion column in the @nationalpost endorsing violence against NDP leader @AviLewis. The Post should retract this article, and apologize to Mr. Lewis. There is no place in a free and democratic society for the incitement of violence against political leaders.
