Senator Schumer is no longer effective and should be replaced. If you can’t lead the fight to stop healthcare premiums from skyrocketing for Americans, what will you fight for?

More people need to talk like Newsom is talking. With that kind of urgency.
Not unlike the Germans w/Hitler in the 1930s, Americans are in denial about the seriousness of the situation w/Trump, who is an extremely damaged and dangerous human being. Gavin Newsom has no illusions about what's transpiring — and it's fucking chilling.

Whatever happens tonight, this thing isn’t over. This bill is a rotting fish. And the more time it gets in the sun, the more people are gonna realize how bad it stinks. Cuts Medicaid, shutters hospitals, blows up deficits, leaves people hungry, creates electricity shortages.

That’s right. 🩵Bernie
Believe it or not, some people’s everyday actions aren’t motivated by some long-term career ambition, but out of a genuine love for people and a desire to do right by them. Bernie is one of those people. Disagree and loathe him all you want. People trust him for a reason.

Replying to @Lawrence
@Lawrence reminding us tonight that a year ago, republicans at the SOTU got upset when President Biden said republicans planned to cut SS, Medicare & Medicaid. Turns out, Biden was right & republicans were lying like they always have, do & will always do to us. #LastWord

Every. Single. Syllable.
Dear Democrats, Do not move to the center! Sincerely, Someone who has watched you do this after every election loss the past 50 years

I am so mad at Dems (DNC Biden etc) for thinking a second go round wouldn’t be this bad, that institutions would hold, that DT was human enough to sit down w/ in the Oval Office & wouldn’t be this cruel. The D’s seem hapless (as a group) to me. Like they have no idea what to do.
Elon and Trump are destroying our medical research infrastructure. NIH cuts billions of dollars in biomedical funding, effective immediately
Researchers say it would hurt facilities that work on medical issues such as cancer research and heart disease. washingtonpost.com/health/20…

More outrage and words like this from more of your colleagues. Please! The country needs it desperately.
Trump's press conference today, blaming the FAA's hiring of women and black people for the crash - was disgusting. Especially after he just threw the FAA into chaos, ousting the Administrator and the whole FAA safety board. He's in charge. This happened on his watch.

Thank you for your straightforward words. Where are the Dems? We’re drowning and your colleagues are making unhelpful tweets & speeches & letters. It’s no wonder we’re in this spot. We need warriors for democracy!
The freezing of federal grants, the firing of all inspector generals, the immunization of political violence - does everybody not see what’s happening? In a blitzkrieg, Trump is trying to collapse our democracy - and probably our economy - and seize control. Call it what it is.

I remember @KeithOlbermann saying in his podcast a few years ago that @maddow should be on 5 nights a week during these challenging times. I guess @MSNBC finally agreed.
"We're already seeing the freneticism of the Trump news cycle taking over, even during the transition... so, we're trying to be ready for anything, and that's part of why we're making this change for the first 100 days," Rachel @Maddow tells @USATODAY. Read more: bit.ly/3DTBeOH

I’ve been in or around politics for over a half-century now. I’ve watched as corporations and the super-rich flooded D.C. with campaign cash and ransacked our system. It won't be easy, but here’s how we break the corporate oligarchy and return power to the people.

I adore both of you. @ElieNYC @KeithOlbermann You both keep me sane. I know, I know, seems like cognitive dissonance, but it’s true.

"The ‘moderates’ got *their* candidate in every single election in which the Republicans nominated Trump: 2016 Clinton, 2020 Biden, 2024 Harris… and they lost to Trump two out of three times. And now they’re going to blame *the left* for that? No f*cking way." My rant:

In tonight’s update, we widened our advantage over Mike Garcia to 4,730 votes. Thank you to everyone for the continued support. Every vote in this race needs to be counted, and I’m looking forward to seeing tomorrow’s update. #CA27

Me neither. My only conclusion: that those who voted for him think it’s to be expected (“you know how men are, right?”) & obviously not a deal breaker. It’s de rigueur. But it’s not. It’s disgusting & friends & family who looked past it to vote for him? I’m done.

I just subscribed (used to subscribe years ago) thanks to this article in particular. Should have done it sooner, but here I am now. No pressure, but I hope you keep writing the unvarnished truth. I need it to breathe. Thanks, Elie.
Everyone (on my, losing side of the aisle) is asking "can America be saved from Trump." I have a better question: Is America worth saving? My latest in the @thenation arrives at the conclusion that America deserves what's about to happen. thenation.com/article/politi…
