BREAKING: Korea’s first won-backed stablecoin is going global with Rain, powered by Avalanche
Rain is integrating KRW1 into its global payments infrastructure, allowing businesses to launch won-denominated cards that can be used across 175M+ Visa merchant locations worldwide.
The Korean won represents nearly $3T in broad money, yet has historically remained largely within Korea’s borders.
KRW1 was launched by @BDACSKorea in partnership with Woori Bank, with its issuance infrastructure built on Avalanche.
Now, @raincards is giving its tokenized counterpart a path into global commerce, with Avalanche working underneath it.

UAE PASS is the country’s national digital identification system- it gives citizens, residents, and visitors a secure way to verify their identity, sign documents and access thousands of government and private-sector services.
Now, @tdrauae is working with Deca4 to integrate Avalanche technology as the infrastructure powering the UAE PASS Digital Vault.
The Vault lets users securely access and share verified official documents, while blockchain is used to verify their authenticity and ensure they haven’t been altered.

Hanwha is bringing traditional assets into global onchain markets, using Avalanche as the infrastructure connecting institutional finance to blockchain rails.
The launch comes as Korea moves aggressively toward tokenized capital markets, with regulators unveiling plans to bring all types of securities onchain.

Some highlights:
- Connect every platform with one click. Log into a multichain wallet, using one or more extensions (Core, Metamask, Brave Wallet, etc)
- Tabbed chains: Switch between Avalanche, Solana and EVM platforms by browsing tabs inside a single session. Bitcoin tab also available for mnemonic wallets.
- Easier access to $AVXTO swap, straight from the home page (no login required), to make onboarding easier
Next steps:
Now that we have all chains in the same interface, will begin work on the universal bridge. It should make it trivially easy to bridge between Ethereum, Robinhood, Bitcoin, Avalanche and Solana
