Wael Naouar, Nabil Channoufi, Ghassan Henchiri, and Ghassan Boughdiri were arrested and imprisoned this March in Tunisia for helping to organise for Global Sumud Flotilla. Send a letter to the Tunisian Embassy now before their appeal hearing on Sep 23.
@LONERANGE
Since we last spoke, a Tunisian court on September 11 extended the pretrial detention of our friends by another four months.
10 months of prison without trial or even a shred of evidence is cruel and unjust. Make no mistake, this is a political theatre put on to appease Zionist and American interests at the cost of Palestinians and the movement for their freedom.
If you have not done so yet, can you send an urgent message to the Tunisian embassy now and demand the immediate and safe release of the Sumud Four today? If you have already done so, can you forward the action to your friends and loved ones?
Right now, all 4 men are now on hunger strike. Wael has gone without food since August 16. Nabil, Ghassan Henchiri, and Ghassan Boughdiri joined him on September 10, in solidarity and in protest of their own detention.
On September 8, Wael collapsed and was rushed to the hospital. He refused an IV and was given oxygen instead. He is suffering severe exhaustion, stomach and intestinal pain, intense ringing in the ears, breathing difficulties, an irregular heartbeat, and an inability to walk. His heart could stop at any moment.
We have 24 hours to make our voices heard by the Tunisian authority before their appeal hearing. Can you send an urgent message now?
They stood up for Palestine and were punished for it. It’s time for us to stand up for them.
In solidarity,
Kai for the Australian delegation of Global Sumud Flotilla
