The people building AI earnestly believe that it could kill us all by the end of the decade. This is not a marketing stunt. If anything, many executives and senior researchers will couch their phrasing in the press to sound sensible - but I hear the same people express fear privately. No other human activity poses this level of danger.

Do not underestimate the power of this technology. These will soon be superhuman systems that can hack anything, revolutionize any field overnight, and acquire real power and resources. We have all witnessed the progress in each of these domains, and progress is not slowing.

I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.

🚨HUGE: The G7 just warned that quantum computers could one day break the encryption behind Bitcoin. Its Cybersecurity Working Group is urging governments and companies to adopt "post-quantum" cryptography before such machines arrive. The risk is real for Bitcoin, where roughly 6.9 MILLION BTC sit in addresses that already expose their public keys. That includes an estimated 1.1 MILLION coins believed to be Satoshi's, worth over $80 BILLION. Bitcoin's defense, a quantum-safe address type called BIP-360, is already live on a test network. A more radical proposal would freeze the vulnerable coins that never migrate, including Satoshi's, but the community rejected it as "authoritarian."

🚨HUGE: South Korea officially commits to moving its entire stock market onto the blockchain. The financial regulator unveiled a three-phase roadmap to tokenize stocks, bonds and funds, starting February 2027. It will pilot tokenized listed stocks through the Korea Exchange, referencing the NYSE and Nasdaq. The final phase puts both securities and payments fully onchain, settled with stablecoins.

🚨 Ce soir, c’est une dinguerie autour de Liquid : près de 4 000 BTC viennent de sortir de sa réserve. Pour ceux qui découvrent l’affaire : cette réserve constitue le collatéral du peg entre Bitcoin et Liquid. Ces BTC servent notamment à garantir que les LBTC puissent être reconvertis en BTC. Le problème : le mouvement représente quasiment l’intégralité des bitcoins détenus dans cette réserve. Si ce que nous observons est bien l’intervention de white hats et le message laissé ensuite me laisse penser que c’est le cas la prouesse technique est assez folle. Ils ont réussi à faire sortir plusieurs milliers de BTC d’une infrastructure justement conçue pour sécuriser ces fonds et encadrer les peg-outs. Puis ils ont laissé un message dans un op_return : “we are whitehats. contact us on chain” Et surtout, les BTC n’ont pas été immédiatement dispersés ou envoyés dans un mixer. Ils sont restés quasiment intégralement regroupés. C’est justement ce qui me fait dire qu’on n’est pas face à un simple vol destiné à faire disparaître les fonds. Maintenant, j’espère vraiment que Liquid donnera des explications détaillées sur ce qui s’est passé et surtout sur la manière dont ces white hats ont réussi à faire sortir quasiment toute la réserve. Parce que techniquement, comprendre comment ils ont procédé est probablement encore plus intéressant que les 4000 BTC eux-mêmes. Ce soir, on assiste en direct à une démonstration de sécurité offensive d’un niveau assez exceptionnel, entièrement inscrite sur Bitcoin.
